Thanks!
Merlyn will be back, he always is, so you'll see more.
And Babs is a real point. Prior to this she and Dick had a falling out and she was of course in the chair for a time after. Her time with the Queens not only helped her heal physically but also let her really think about what she wanted for herself one day going forward. In can help to think about things.

Read this yesterday during a break between shots, and it's really long, so sorry if I don't get very specific.
I really liked this. It was certainly chaotic, and there are still three or four characters I don't know at all. Merlyn was fairly underdeveloped, and the fight scene was too short for my liking, but in general everything was great. I loved the ending.
To the big plot twists: Jax's death and Robby! As cross mentioned, we didn't really know Jax so it's hard to be too upset, but beyond the lack of depth the death was well done. Similarly, the way you showed Robby's birth from the contractions to Ollie's last stand was incredible! Nicely done!
I'd recommend trimming down the cast a bit in the next arc. It's hard to be too attached to anyone when there's so many people whom we don't even really know playing a decent role in the story.
This was the first issue all arc that felt like a "Green Arrow" issue. Ollie was clearly the main character. Nice job there.
8/10. Can't wait for more!

Once again, we're thrown right into the latest Hell awaiting Green Arrow and his family. Seems like it's too much to hope that these poor heroes might even get a week or two of relaxation before someone from their past is back to stir up trouble.
But that's not to say it's not an exciting start to an arc, with lots of mystery surrounding exactly who wants what from them this time. Especially given the reintroduction of one character and the presumed appearance of another (both left nameless in this comment to avoid spoilers). These two are well established here as having their own agenda, so one can only wonder how long their interests will gel with the heroes, and if at some point we'll be seeing them as much as antagonists as the others.
It is nice to see, however, that despite the relentless wave after wave of misfortune, the Queens and their friends all manage to find ways to continue being a family, and are able to sneak a little happiness here and there. The little children are good for that, but Mia is not to be discounted, and it certainly looks like she'll be getting some real time to shine this arc, which will be nice.
It's a solid opening, and promises the usual great things. Can't wait to see where this arc takes us, but it's sure to be a thrill ride as always.

To be fair they've had four months, even though that is with a new baby so that's an adventure of it's own.
Glad you like it! I've been building up to a number of things that I'm really excited to finally getting to. I hope I live up to your expectations.

This was an interesting start. I'm glad you took my advice and sent a few of the characters off for a bit. In fact, the two least developed characters are no longer in the immediate cast. Mia remains the most interesting of the girls, and I'm glad she's still around.
Nice use of the two villains. I like the mix of mystical, ninja voodoo and spy ops (at least tonally for the bad guys, not literally). Also, I enjoyed the way you started the issue. Death is always a good bet.
You could use "time stamps." I got lost in the flashback scenes. It took me a couple read throughs before it made sense. At least just use "A Long Time Ago," "Later," and "Now." Also, the plot in the flashbacks....what? The League? Ollie and Shado on the island? I have no idea what's going on. Nothing like this was ever mentioned or hinted at before.
My last major complaint is that Ollie continues to feel like a secondary character in "Green Arrow." I thought last issue was you beginning to right that wrong, but this issue only drives that knife a little deeper. I know Di is your favorite character, but this is "Green Arrow." At the very least, you could rename the title "Arrows" or, hell, "Black Canary." I keep waiting on something I'm afraid I'll never get.
7/10
An interesting if only decent start. I'll keep reading if you keep writing.

I am trying to build to the island. The island will be a major theme in this arc, and the one straight up evil element they have to deal with. And it's a battle that will be very heavily centered on Ollie, I promise he'll shine.
Though I'd say that Di has gotten a little bit of a stick in a way. She spent most of arc 1 sick/wounded and arc 2 wounded/on bed rest. She has barely fought. Maybe you're used to the show now? Green Batman does take much of the center stage. More intensely then Ollie tends to in the comics. But in anycase I'll make a point to give him more time, I certainly don't want to hold a key character back.

Actually, it's just my experience that the title character has the primary role. That's not a sarcastic joke, btw. Just a statement of my opinion/experience (including with a number of GA comics). You make a fair point with Di though. However, I've always felt Ollie doesn't get the "leading" role he deserves in a title using his codename.
Cool beans about the island. I can't wait!!

I'll admit I've seen both. The ones that have stood out for me really had the theme be the team. IE Ollie is at the center of it but the stage is shared. Like the books of the early 90's, he was a key part of the story but so was the Mia, Di and to a degree Roy, though he was off elsewhere by then.
Admittedly the story lines have been very group/family based, but I need to really build those relationships. Something as taxing as the threat of death and kidnapping was something I wanted to build to and do right.

There was definitely a lot going on in here, and at times, it was a little difficult to keep track of it all - but I think that worked to your advantage here. It really did a great job illustrating just how many moving pieces were going on, and really helped to create an atmosphere of tension and showed how everyone was moving so quickly to pull things together.
It was nice that you threw in a reference to there being at least a few months of relative peace, Lord knows if anyone deserves it, it's this family. But of course, I do understand that there's probably not much tension in a "family game night" issue, so you'd naturally be focused on the more exciting action, but still - it's definitely good to know there were happier, less chaotic times for our heroes.
I remain a big fan of this series, and it's amazing given the length of the series and how long you've been at it, that it remains, issue in and issue out, such high quality. I'm very much looking forward to seeing where this one goes, it definitely seems explosive.

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks.
I'll add elements to make it clear they have family time as well. It's more then a fight, they have things worth fighting for.

(Can't wait to read this, but I absolutely must take a nap, the demon children in my class today have just absolutely destroyed my will to live. I think that's all part of their plan to destroy me.
But, I'm posting this temporary placeholder instead of a comment so that the 28 post Who's Who thread I just put up doesn't absolutely obliterate the fact that this was updated. I'll replace this with an actual review once I get back up.
I wanted to make sure this was back on top as the newest post, so everyone can see there's a new issue to read and comment upon.)

This definitely seems like the kind of issue we're going to be going back to and revisit down the line. There's a ton going on here, a lot more than I think I can process at the moment, but I have a feeling there's going to be some real "ah ha!" moments hidden that will make sense with the greater context of future issues.
The scenes themselves were all really well done in the usual ways, the action was subtle but there's always this pervasive intensity in this series. It's almost the exact opposite of Ultimate Knights - in that series we see the figurative pile of dynamite getting bigger and bigger, and just have to wait for the impressive explosion, but in this one we honestly don't know how big the pile has gotten, so there's this great tension that when it blows up, and it could any moment, it's going to take us all by surprise. I like this approach as well, and seems very well suited for your writing talents.
I really liked the addition of the pilot. Seems like a fun character. The whole London plotline, for as much of it as we've seen so far, proved a nice little breather from the intensity elsewhere, though knowing this series it's just more calm before the storm. But there's nothing wrong with that.
All in all, another great effort. This arc, as I said before, seems like there's going to be a lot to come back to and appreciate differently once we have more issues going, and I look forward to being able to do that. I enjoyed my first pass through, I expect I'll enjoy it even more once I see how all this pays off.
Great job, and hopefully the writer's block is gone for awhile, be nice to see this one again soon!

This was a good issue. It could've used a little more proofreading (you forgot some quotation marks and there were a few run ons), but this was well done. One intense scene, but mostly just 'chill' scenes, which is good. You handled it well, too, by sprinkling in mysteries (I'm a bit sad I know the Mrs. Lance mystery, but at least that means I can safely tell everyone it's cool). With that said, I don't know why Mrs. Lance wouldn't tell everyone about it in the file. Whatever, though. I'll leave it to you.
I will say this story could use a "Previously in" bit before it, especially with it being a while since the last issue. Without it, I might get lost after a while. I know I've already totally forgotten why Mia was away, and why Thea wasn't in college anymore. What's up with Britain, anyway?
8/10. Keep up the good work.
