One idea I just had would be to set out a plan. Take, say, the justice league and divvy out the characters: give everyone 6 issues to establish their characters, then create the justice league as a rotating title. Most of the writers could write their own characters while one writer writes maybe 2 justice league issues, then it passes around. To me it just feels like some direction might help the site. I like this idea, but it would take writers willing to be handed assignments, and I'm not certain how feasible that would be.

Hello long time no see. To me the situation is that DC itself has basically done what this board was proposed to do in a way. With its post Flashpoint revamp. Last year I proposed an idea that we have a few titles that would actually pick up the pre-Flashpoint DCU. To give it a try and write creatively from that point. What could we do with the DC Universe we had followed for years , before it was changed by Flashpoint ? I even jokingly suggested we keep the prior numbering like ...Superman #715 , Batman #714 ...etc etc...

We aren't taking everything in the current DC universe as canon. We're establishing our own universe and canon. Really, Flashpoint and other such events shouldn't have a real effect on what we write here unless we eventually do some of those events. If you have any particular storylines in mind, maybe they can be adapted for our current continuity. There's plenty of room to make your own mark right now.

In all I think what the site needs is a spark. You need a spark and another reboot won't do it. I proposed that we have a real DCU Universe and the Ultimate one. Perhaps the real DCU one would spark people to return and post more for the Ultimate side. Eventually if it works , people could build a crossover of the Ultimate universe and Pre-Flashpoint. That to me would be the ideal solution. Instead of yet another revamp and handing out properties again and all. Lets see how many do the pre-FP DCU and can be creative to go from a certain point . That to me would test our muscles. Could many of us do it ? We would have years of DC history to play with as well. Unlike starting from scratch.

I had an idea for an event but I wasnt sure where to post it so I figured this was a good place. I call it: Ultimate Crisis. The book would start ten years in the future from present day. Have The Great Machine giving a speech for something. Some kind of fundraiser and then out of nowhere Brianiac shows up. Typical supervillain vs superhero battle ensues. As The Great Machine is about to lay waste to Brainiac ass he stops and realizes that he cant talk to the machines now. Brainiac laughs and says that the virus has already infected him and is eliminating his powers now. Brainiac then lobotomizes Hundred in front of the crowd. AS the crowd freaks and runs for their lives, Brainiac unleashes his "Sentry Bots" all over the world to enslave it. One year passes. This time is come to be known as the Liberation War. In the year since Hundred's death, the heroes of the ultimate universe have come together to try and destroy Brainiac at Ground Zero (Metropolis). As the heroes battle the Bots, Superman takes the fight to Brainiac directly. After beating the holy piss out of the android, Brainiac pulls out a fist sized chunk of Kryptonite. He beats Superman within an inch of his life with the stone but stops and starts projecting the scene to every person enslaved on earth. Live on tv, Brainiac punches through the chest of Superman killing him instantly. The heroes are immediatly demoralized and retreat to Star City. Ten more years pass as the heroes slowly dwindle trying to fight Brainiac. Even the Villains come out to battle the evil bot but lose just as fast. Finally it is decided that the heroes will send one person back in time to our time and stop Brainiac from killing Hundred thus starting the war. The heroes decide to send Red Arrow back to the past and prevent the war. Just as Red Arrow vanishes from their time-stream, Brianiac forces come down upon Star City destroying it and capturing all of the heroes. One by one every one is executed in front of the world again. The final issue would be Red Arrow coming to our time and collecting everyone and stopping Brainiac before he infects Hundred with the virus. Thus stopping the war and the fucked up future. Back in the future, Batman is the final hero to be executed. As Brainiac personally goes to kill him, Batman see's the sky turn white behind Brainiac. Brainiac stops and questions what Batman is so happy about? Batman just smiles and say's "We won." Everything is reverted back to normal and the evil future is prevented. I took alot of inspiration from the future episodes of Justice league unlimited and from Kingdom Come and of course Days of Future past. Thoughts?

I'd have to disagree with this idea, not because I like it or anything (quite the contrary), it's just I actually have a massive Brainiac type story crossover planned which is incredibly similar to this, but further down the line. I'm reluctant to bring it forward yet to the board, as I'm barely getting my monthly issue out lately, but it is something I really hope I get to do. It is a great story idea though.

While it's clear you've given this a lot of thought, this probably won't happen for several reasons.
1) Any major crossover event like this requires input, not just approval, from ALL writers involved. Does Jackalope think it makes sense for a virus to cripple Great Machine? Would Adrini be okay with you nuking Star City? Even if you plan to erase the plot via time travel shenanigans (a trope I personally despise btw), that still affects everyone's title.
2) I touched on this above, but Brainiac is jackalope's claim. Any and all possible stuff involving Brainiac goes through him first.
3) With very few exceptions, we're not allowing time travel shenanigans, especially anything involving the future for the simple reason that every writer has plans for their title's future, and there's simply no way to account for everyone's titles without stepping on toes, making false assumptions, or getting major spoilers from everyone.
4) Most importantly, you already spoiled the entire plot, including the ending, on a public thread. I get that you probably had to do so in order to stress that you were going to fix what you broke in-universe but still, kind of defeats the purpose of writing it in the first place if everyone knows what happens. Use a bit more discretion next time, eh?
Still, I do have to commend you for taking the details of our universe into account. You clearly put a lot of effort and thought into this. This would probably be more appropriate as a limited Elseworlds title, which is something we may implement more down the road.
When Justice League comes around, every established writer on the site will have a chance to write their big crossover storyline. For now, work on establishing your own title, but feel free to keep jotting down those ideas. They'll come in handy one day (though in the future I'd recommend against posting the entirety of the idea in a public thread).
