"We're not going to get in trouble for exploring." Thea said as she drove the bike, technically Di's bike, to a safe house. "If you want to fight with us you need to know these places."
"Who do we go after?" Mia held onto her friend and watched the dark streets they passed. She was in her new black and yellow costume with her bow and quiver in the side box along with Thea's. Both if them had gotten new arrows from Jax, the kind that Ollie used. He and the rest of the family just hadn't been told they were heading out.
"Some drug thugs, maybe an abuser. Why did you go for the cape?" Thea asked as they parked at a small garage and walked inside.
"I felt it, and it's great for hiding things." Where Thea had got for a classic collar cape Mia had decided on a wrap around cowl. It helped tell them apart. "Now what?"
"We take to the roof and see what we spot. I would break out the police radio, but digs had that under lock." Thea made an annoyed face.
The two girls put their quivers on their backs, and holding their bows opened the roof hatch. Mia memorizing the code. On the roof they settled in and kept an eye out. Mia excited until she saw Thea looking into the dark night.
"You okay?" She asked her friend. Thea shrugged.
"I needed to get away. It's been a lot to keep up with." Thea smiled at her. "Nothing bad."
"What's been a lot?" Mia kept a look out but scooted closer.
"Just all of it. Di almost dying, bringing you home, the wedding - so on so forth." Thea took a deep breath of night air. "They try to give us a vacation and it gets interrupted by a furnuel and a nazi. It's not Ollie's fault, but I needed to get away."
"Dinah's better, we're out of people to bury." Mia said, looking into the night. "I love it here, I could say here forever."
"Mia, at the camp, did they really-" Thea had never opened the subject with her friend.
"Ya, they did." Mia said softly. "Only they knew I would fight, so they would tie me up first, drug me a little. Even knock me out. I just kept hoping to escape."
"I'm sorry." Thea winced. She couldn't even picture it. "I bet you are just happy to be here."
"What was it like, before all of us?" Mia smiled at the teen, eager to change the topic . "It had to be less chaotic."
"There were fewer people to do chores." Thea joked. "It was me and Ollie. Digs drove us around, Adrien got us things. Roy kept to himself. We didn't go out much. We didn't do much at all."
"What about Di?" Mia smiled.
"She was a phantom woman, sighted but never caught. We had given up on life coming back to the house. Now we're bursting at the seams, if only we could get a week's vacation to enjoy it." Thea grabbed the blonde's hand, she hated the thought of what she had been through. "You're my favorite addition. I always wanted a sister ."
"So did I. You and Di are my favorite, but Di isn't a sister. You are." Mia smiled at her.
"Ya, Di is a mom. A good one to, she just picked it up." She beamed as Mia giggled in agreement.
"She'll be great, but I get why they're waiting." Mia grinned. "Sisters?" She asked.
"Sisters. Hey, look." A light turned on in a house and a woman ran out, two kids in tow. A very angry man followed. They didn't understand the Spanish but her bruises spoke for themselves.
Mia shot the mans thigh as Thea took out a foot. They notified the police, and heard sirens shortly. The man spotted them and Mia jumped down to him, putting an arrow in his face. The message got through.
The next day Mia finished her lessons and walked up to her room. Thea was sitting on the bed excitedly.
"Here, I got you something." She handed her a small box. "I think I picked the right design."
"Thank you." Mia scrambled onto the bed, opening the package. "You didn't have to."
"I wanted to. What do you think?" Mia was looking at the silver bracelet.
"It's perfect, thank you." Mia wiped a tear off her face and hugged her companion close.
"It matches mine." Thea said after a moment, a loaded arrow with the words 'my sister' on the shaft on a bracelet chain. "I thought they fit." Mia started crying again and claimed another hug, it was happily returned.
"Girls, you here?" Dinah walked into the room. "Mia, are you alright?" She said when she saw the tears.
"We're great." Thea beamed, Mia nodded. "Something wrong?" There were a lot of missions as of late.
"I should say so." Her eyes sparkled, a good sign. "School is almost here, the summer has slipped away, and not once have us girls even gone for ice cream. Adrien, Jade and I are hoping to take on the jumbo challenge Sunday, we could use two more spoons." She pulled two from behind her back and grinned wickedly. "One condition, the boys can't know. This is a girls only event."
The teens scrambled to get shoes on and ran to the door, discussing strategy. Di watched them with a soft smile.
"History repeating itself." Jade said, watching the dark and light haired teens. "Good for them."
"Thank you for finding me." Di grabbed her own 'sister's' hand and squeezed it. "It wasn't right without you."
"You try to leave me like that again and I get to kidnap you." Jade smiled wryly. "Ice cream?" Di nodded.
Trailing behind Adrien looked with a soft sadness at the four and sighed, looking at the side table where the old photograph of her own 'sister' sat.
"Wish us luck, Moira." She said softly, running a finger along the frame.
