Well this was just a teaser image.
What day? That I won't know. I am writing 1 and 2 at the moment, each is in various draft stages (I was fairly certain no one was going to take Planetary as a title even if I drafted last, so I had a bit of a head start plotting and doing some initial drafts of scenes, but I had to wait to see if my supporting cast made it through to me before I really dug in). Closer to the end of the month if I had to guess. I am not going to write a solicit until I have a better idea, so watch for the solicit, it should tell you when exactly to expect it.

Planetary Release Schedule Ok here's the plan...one of the reasons I delayed launching Planetary was that I wanted to have a few issues in the can before I posted the first issue. Currently #1 and #2 are done and edited, #3 is done in draft form and #4 is plotted. The reason for this, and both buck and Miller know this already, is that I am approaching Planetary in an episodic format, each issue is like a stand alone episode of a TV series but build a larger story as it proceeds. To accomplish this, I wanted to post issues in weekly batches, much like a TV series does episodes in batches. The first batch is intended to have 6 episodes running weekly, each appearing on Sunday nights beginning later today, the 28th and running through the first weekend in December. I will then take a break, but a new single issue episode will appear before the end of December, consider it a holiday episode even though it won't be holiday themed. Then beginning the last weekend in January I will roll out a second batch of issues/episodes (hopefully another 6, but we will see), after I have had time to get ahead again and have several issues in the can so to speak. So the projected schedule looks something like this: Planetary Episode Guide Season One Episode One: Shake Rattle and Roll (posting date: 10/28/12) Episode Two: Snowblind (projected posting date: 11/03/12) Episode Three: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (projected posting date 11/10/12) Episode Four: Secret Agent Man (projected posting date 11/17/12) Episode Five: Any Old Place the Gang Goes (projected posting date 12/2/12) Episode Six: The Wanderer (projected posting date 12/9/12) Episode Seven: Auld Lang Syne (projected posting date 12/23/12) Episode Eight: TBD (projected posting date 1/27/13) So tune in to Planetary, appearing Sundays throughout this fall. Right here on the UDCU -M

It is an okay issue. The characters were fine, although the monster didn't really seem all that threatening to me. The hook was interesting and I am curious to see what is causing the quakes. 7.5/10

Someone's stealing my episode formula, eh?
--
Too much dialogue.
Way too much dialogue.
Lets say that a third way... That's a fucking lot of dialogue.
All of it without any real substance to the characters and what they're doing besides talking. Might be taking that episode formula too much to heart and writing it like a TV script.
Sadly, this issue fails on the introduction formula I'm judging everyone by. Well, maybe not fails. Definitely a D. Maybe a C. The characters were given the barebones description. The Setting slightly more. Only really the aliens got anything and it was repeated.
“Do you have to watch that shit, Drummer?” the tall, black-haired, dark complexioned woman dressed in black leather said as she navigated the SUV on the narrow mountain road.
That's a lot of black too. Could have at least added to her jacket. Did it really need to be black leather? Couldn't it have been a patch patterned coat? Something to give some life and color to the character?

It seems like not much happened. There was a lot of dialogue, but the story went at a very slow pace. That's not to say that what was there was bad, but it was very light on content which doesn't make for the most exciting read.

I'm looking forward to this title. It seems like your kind of story. A bit like my ols SHADE, but with a whole lot less silly.
The issue was fine. I liked the layout. The dialogue may have benefited from a bit more description or action interspersed with it. I'm looking forward to how you intertwine the Victoriana into our new universe.

I was underwhelmed. It wasn't bad by any means. Your stories never are. But as a first issue, I just didn't get into it. I didn't find the characters engaging. Kind of left me wondering why I care.
Of course I'll keep reading. So keep em coming.

Muuuch more story progression than the first issue, which is good. I like the mystery surrounding Snow, if that makes sense. It's vague enough to give a "wait and see" element without having too little detail for me to care about or understand his character.

This is the mrp I know and love! Much more interesting and engaging. The characters were well done. Great mystery setup.
My only gripe is some of the dialogue was incredibly awkward exposition. There was no reason for the characters to say some of it except to tell the reader. It pulled me out every time.
But that's a minor gripe. Otherwise a great issue that really has me interested in where the story is going. Keep em coming.

First off, I'm a pretty big planetary fan so I feel like I'm going to enjoy this series and how you go about the premise of Planetary, especially with easter eggs that might/might not be there (Hark! Am i overthinking that you mean the Hark family?) and while the first issue was okay, the second was a great follow up. It's like a one-two punch, you follow with the jab (no 1) then go with the straight (snowblind) and bam, devastatingly good fun.
Though I'm truly waiting for when we get to see you handle The Four
