The first issue will be up later today, along with the last few chapters of Ultimate Superman.
While I'll be writing the first arc for this title, I'll be taking bids for future writers as well as suggestions for future arcs and antagonists that YOU would like to see.
The first two arcs are set in stone, but after that things are up in the air. What would you like to see? Legion of Doom? Crime Syndicate? Starro? I am open for any and all suggestions.

I am so sorry for the delay. The first issue has basically been done and sitting on my laptop, but for continuity's sake I wanted to get Superman finished first, and that was an extremely difficult chapter to write.
On top of that, my computer crashed due to a bad windows update and I was out of a computer and lost most of my work for a good chunk of the month. Fortunately the awesome tech guys at Adrini's university managed to salvage my computer with minimal data loss.
Justice League #1 is up. Adrini and Drake wrote a good chunk of the story with minor edits from me. I hope it's at least partially worth the wait.
Also, I am taking both volunteers for writing future arcs, and suggestions. What do you want to see in Ultimate Justice League? What villains or plots would you want to see ultimized? Be sure and let me know.

Given that I'm behind on almost every title on the board and haven't even started Superman I'm going to try to see how this issue works without being up to date on the continuity, because chances are any new people will be starting with JL.
The opening scene is amazing, besides an as that should be a was, I could picture the entire scene perfectly in my head and even hear it.
The closest thing I have to a complaint about the second scene is we don't get a description of Luthor, but I'm assuming that's because we all know what Luthor looks like.
I don't mind references to the comics, but two in a sentence mostly just draws attention to what you're doing.
Wow, Batman's a douche, just deciding to stop a guy from leaving the city, also there's something not quite right about him grounding Robin in the middle of combat but that may just be me.
You managed something I didn't think was possible, you found something stupider than 'I'm the goddamned batman,' I feel like that should earn a congratulations. Am I gonna have to call Arthur Crazy Steve in these reviews, because Aquaman is one of the few titles I'm caught up on and this doesn't read like Aquaman in any way.
I'm am glad Ollie's secret base is called The Quiver. I admit I'm surprised that Di isn't a part of the chosen heroes, and I couldn't help but wonder where the rest of team arrow are, because you mention everyone stays in the same house but then don't mention why it's only Di and ollie on patrol.
Now that's an ending, I can't wait for issue 2.
So all in all a really good issue, besides the Luthor thing I mentioned the description was always enough that I knew what was going on but not enough that you got bogged down in the details. It also never felt like I was missing out on anything by not being up to date on the other titles. Though it also didn't make me want to check out any of the title probably because we only got a short scene with everyone because it was a putting the team together issue.

I thought this was really striking. It does a great job setting up the premise of the series, and introducing the primary players.
I'm the least familiar, in terms of the characters presented in their continuity, with Aquaman, but it seems to borrow a bit of the bravado from the Brave and the Bold incarnation, along with the regal pretension of the DCAU version - both I liked, so I think I'll have no problem enjoying this version too.
Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow are all welcome additions to the team as well, and I thought their introductions worked well to get everyone quickly up to date with their characters. Of course, the star is Doctor Fate, and this should be a very interesting character and story indeed. I really can't wait to see it fleshed out more.
But well done, the Justice League gets the impactful start it needs, and I'm sure it's going to be one of the highlights of the board in no time.

I felt it needed to be longer. It opens with a retread of Superman 10's ending and then is just all set up. Obviously you need to bring the team together, and using Zatanna as Fate was good, but in the end it felt too short and to just stop after the gathering with nothing else was just a let down.
I agree Aquaman felt wrong. I don't know who wrote the scene, and of course time has gone by since the end of his series, but it still felt wrong.
I still have to catch up on Knights, so I was a little surprised at the lightheartedness of Batman. Not that it's wrong or anything. Though I agree the grounding was just out there. Heck, it isn't even a good idea for Robin to call him Father in public, but then the grounding felt like a parody.
Other than that it was a good start, it just felt like it should have been more. Like half an issue. Keep em coming.

That grounding line was my fault. It was campy. I was trying to be a bit cheeky.
I'm also not happy with the Aquaman scene. I wrote something that was far from perfect, but was at least true to the Aquaman from the comics (if not Star and I's interpretations). These changes were completely unlike anything we or the comics have done. It just read....well, badly. Elec said it. He reads like ASBAR Bats. The "goddamn" line isn't even the only reason why.
EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, I wrote the original Aquaman scene but it has since been changed.

Just a note, JL takes place after Knights.

Live and learn. Next chapter we know to run him through all parties to make sure we catch something like that.
Aquaman hasn't been active for a time. I makes a certain amount of sense that of all people he was the hardest to write.

I take full blame for the Aquaman dialogue. I was trying to steer clear from the regal, fantasy king voice that Aquaman normally has because our Aquaman has spent most of his life with a normal life without all the Atlantean or kingly influences. I can see I steered too far in the other direction though. I thought the 'goddamn Aquaman' line would be funny, and yeah the reference to ASBAR was intentional, but I guess I was in the wrong. My bad. I'll tone it down in the future.
I will respond to the other review stuff later.
EDIT: It's still early enough that I could just go back and edit in Drake's original dialogue for Aquaman, unless anyone has objections? It lacks anything close to the "goddamn Aquaman" line.

I'm gonna say a good rule of thumb is don't reference ASBAR in anyway, because it just reminds your audience that it exists and then they'll be angry about it.

I edited the Aquaman portion. The new portion is written by Drake. No more ASBAR reference.

Woo! There's some stuff could use some more detail, but overall it's awesome. I'm just glad Justice League is happening. It makes me want to restart my Guy Gardner series.
