www.facebook.com/wwe/videos/10153177972836443 For all my talk about it, I really wasn't sure if he was going to be able to pull it off, but I have to say, I'm absolutely impressed. Amell's got a better spear than Roman Reigns, sells better than most of the main eventers and I don't think 2/3 of the roster could vault into the ring the way he does here. Plus he's able to throw good looking punches so long as the WWE's crappy camerawork doesn't give it away. He's probably the most impressive and credible looking celebrity I've ever seen get in the ring, maybe ever. Certainly in a looooong time.

So NXT Takeover Brooklyn I'm going to give my thoughts on each of the matches and then on the show itself.
Liger VS Breeze was good but as somebody who has never seen Liger before it was always going to be a bit of a disappointment considering how much he was built up. On the plus side Breeze being chosen for this match gives me confidence he won't just disappear after takeover again.
The Vaudevillains VS BAMF was great I'm hoping Blue Pants continues to be a part of the Vaudevillains team and that she continues not having an actual name. The Vaudevillains are an amazing tag team and I can not wait to see how long they stay as champs.
Apoolo Crews VS Tye Dillinger was exactly what it was supposed to be, Apollo Crews shows why he deserves to be on NXT.
Samoa Joe VS Baron Corbin was a slugfest as it was always going to be. Joe showed again that he's amazing and Corbin actually got to wrestle, seriously can Corbin be iven something to do? he's had less than 5 fights this year that lasted more than a minute it's ridiculous.
Bayley VS Sasha Banks was fucking brilliant. Which is probably the least surprising part of this Takeover the 4 Horsewomen have been putting on some of the best WWE matches every time they go at it and this one was no different. I'll admit I got emotional seeing Bayley finally become champion and even moreso when Becky, Charlotte, and Sahsa did their curtain call.
Finn Balor VS Kevin Owens was an amazing match but after the women's match it was never going to be the best match of the night, which has been true of the last couple takeovers.
All in all Takeover Brooklyn was amazing, and will certainly look even more impressive tomorrow after the Main Roster manage to put on a show not even half as good with twice the time.

Sounds like typical NXT. They continue to destroy the main roster with each and every show. Sad to see the Four horsewomen go. Very worried that they will fail on the main roster. Finn vs Joe needs to happen soon

Fun fact of the day:
Simon Gotch came from my local wrestling federation here in Kansas.

Best live show I've ever been to. Haven't seen the network feed yet, but it was amazing just being there and feeling the energy. Haven't been in a crowd with this much energy since ECW's heyday. I'll post a report of what you might have missed before it went live on the air when I get back home.

Finally got around to watching the network version of NXT Takeover. Pretty much agree with what was posted above, save for the fact that in my opinion, Barin Corbin is absolutely useless. He's the male Eva Marie. Scary to think at one point he was going to be the new Wyatt member (although I guess he'd have done just fine in the Erick Rowan, do nothing but stand around in a sheep mask role.)
Here's my random thoughts and musings on some of the stuff you guys didn't get to see on the broadcast.
One thing you don't really realize until you're in an arena that's playing it on a loop (or perhaps just if you're me you notice this), but no one in NXT has a halfway decent titantron video. The music is great, I loved Tyler Breeze's model intro and will forever pop for Bailey's waving tube men, but the titantrons themselves are so generic. I could understand Apollo Crews, who hasn't had a match yet, but all these other guys have plenty of footage that could be used to make things interesting (they've even got plenty of Jushin Liger footage from ECW and WCW), and they just haven't done a halfway decent job with any of them. Dana Brooks of all people is the only one that's really fleshed out like a main roster wrestler gets.
Another odd thing I noticed is that almost universally the winners and losers of the matches go backstage through different doors. Not sure why or anything, just something I noticed.
The opening segment didn't quite go as planned - about ten minutes before the actual PPV began, Triple H came out to a huge pop and using his proper music (God, do I hate the Authority theme). The crowd was universally chanting "Thank you Hunter". He came out and gave a ten minute speech, really the only part of which was televised was the announcement of the UK tour. The rest of it was spent trying to explain how he wanted to open the show with the solo spotlight on him, with the crowd completely blacked out, making it seem like he was alone while he started talking about how NXT was the future... blah blah blah. Our job was to be quiet, until he called for the lights, would reveal he was in the ring, and the crowd would pop. He told us that everyone backstage thought it was a terrible idea because we couldn't be trusted to do it right.
Sadly he was right.
Of course, the lighting guy illuminating the ring ropes, and his not mentioning of putting down the cell phones kind of ruined it anyway, but there were too many assholes intentionally ruining the moment (chanting "Chris Benoit" among other things). It would have been cool. Fortunately, it was the last time assholes were successful in hijacking the show.
Blue Pants was CRAZY over - like in her hometown over (even though she's not from anywhere near Brooklyn). I got into the arena an hour early, she was the first "We Want..." chant that took off, and it kept getting resurrected until she actually showed. One thing you guys didn't get to see just how long it took English and Gotch to get her up on their shoulders. I don't know if that was an improvised spot, or if Gotch forgot to do it, but it was almost comical with how long Adrian English got left hanging with her. It didn't diminish their much welcome victory however - the crowd ate that up. Though as they were just about to head backstage, while the PPV cut over to shots from Coney Island and the announce team blathered, in the arena, we got an Undertaker vignette. For a brief moment, when the gong hit at the start, it looked like Taker was coming out to wreck the Vaudvillains and the crowd was pretty shocked. It would have made about as much sense as anything else Taker's done this summer, so for a brief moment we believed it.
It didn't come over on the network, but all four Tough Enough finalists were booed HARD from the moment they were introduced. Not heel heat or anything, just "go away" boos. Rick Rubin to his credit was there the entire show - very big Kevin Owens fan based on his responses. All the rest of the "special guests" were gone within moments of being shown on camera "watching live". That may have been the last bit of kayfabe to die for me, it was most disappointing. It's also a little amusing that sitting next to Seth Rollins and looking bored was the most screen time Seth's girlfriend has had or will have in WWE since she got shitcanned for the Nazi stuff.
Kevin Owens got the Goldberg go to the ring from backstage entrance to buy the time for the crew to flood the stage with smoke for Finn Balor's never ending spectacle. It looked really cool live, but it loses a bit of the impact when you see the other guys running in and laying down in the smoke though.
Just as the match was about to start, you could hear a "Let them stay" chant going through the crowd - this was because a four or five guys on the right side of the arena threw a bunch of streamers down to ringside (to emulate what happened when he won the title in Japan). Security was unmoved and escorted them out, and the announce crew, who were covered in the streamers were pretty annoyed.
One funny bit you guys didn't get to see happened right after Owens first got a hold of the ladder, and pinned Balor up against the ring with it. Right after he ran back a few feet and made it look like he was going to run up the ladder but broke off at the last second and just punched Balor, as the camera focused on Balor writhing on the ground, Owens hopped up on the side of the ring and did this really exaggerated bow to the crowd. The crowd popped in response.
All in all, a hell of a show. Summerslam didn't even try to compete.

Not your point, but honestly, dude has the chops. I'd sign him to NXT in a heartbeat if I were WWE.

His match at Summerslam had him be better than a couple of the NXT roster already.

I'd say he put on a better match than half the people at Summerslam. He's already got a more convincing spear than both Edge and Roman Reigns (but then again, that's not really saying anything.)
The only thing I don't understand is why Amell's trying to make this all mysterious - we all know that Canadians are required to have a sharpshooter as a second finisher post-Screwjob. So it's not like his finisher moveset isn't already locked in.

Definitely a good thing. The more promotions out there, the more people can work. Now we really just need someone to find a way to put a scare into Vince, and maybe we can get better than "meh" PPVs.

So I watched all of TLC and the top 3 things from the event
1. Kalisto performing the Salista Del Sol off a ladder through another ladder. 2. The implication we'll be getting Becky/Charlotte at the Rumble 3. Ambrose winning the Intercontinental title.

I got the WWE Network for the first time. Getting the Rumble for free. I enjoy the network so far but I probably wont continue with it after my free month is up

I don't blame you, I really only use the network for NXT, if nothing else you should definitely use the month to watch the Takeovers.
