The more titles we get and the longer they go, the more necessary it will be to keep a detailed archive of everything that's happened here.
While one person can eventually read through all the past titles and get this information, one person will take quite a long time. So I ask the members of this site to, if willing, when reading some of our existing or past titles, take some notes and either post them in the existing thread of Writer Continuity or PM those details to me so I can keep everything in our archive consistent.
Some of the things I'd like to put up here:
- We have some story summaries already, but we could always use more, and keep them up to date as well. - An A to Z glossary of every character and claim that's appeared in this universe, including a brief summary of their role so far. - A brief timeline of important historical events in the UDCU. - A list of important locations in the UDCU. - A list of major businesses, criminal organizations, and other factions. - Any other important information for writers anyone can think of. - All the same for the old pre-reboot titles.
I'll take anyone willing to volunteer to help catalog this information. Post here or PM me with any information you want to provide.

Figure this is the easiest way to go about this. I've gotten started with trying to create the archive requested above. So far, I've gone through Ultimate Ex Machina and Ultimate Superman, so the data is limited to only what was included in those two series. Assuming you all think I'm on the right track - I'll continue with the other series and continue to fill in the data. Instead of posting it all in here and flooding the board with stuff you all might either not dig, or might want to make changes on, I threw together a quick board to post it all in, so I could get the formatting and everything nailed down. It'll be easy to transfer it over here once it's approved. So let me know what you think. And of course, if anyone wants to explore formatting or other issues and don't want to do it on this board without testing it out first, let me know, and you can use this temporary one I'm linking to instead. Here's the link, like I said, give me your thoughts: Test Board

You're too kind. Cataloguing and archiving data is always something I've been good at. Figure I might as well put that to use here.

Thank you very much.
This is exactly the stuff I'm looking for and... damn, Drake said it best. This is going to be a big help going forward.

I'm just about done going through Aquaman (but I probably won't update the archive until tomorrow morning) . My plan is to go through all the ended series first, then assuming I have the blessings of the current writers, moving through the active series. I have a list of questions, so if it's cool, I'll just throw them out here for people to debate (or if it's a specific writer's domain, wait for their answer) and once there's a consensus, add that to the archive. Once I'm fully caught up, we'll talk about how you want to port it back over here.

In case you keep going through all the titles, Shadowpact is probably not in continuity. Demon Knights is though.

Nothing all that spoiler oriented, probably going to be more a case of "why do you even care about that?" kind of questions. But the point is to be thorough. Once I'm done making my Aquaman notes, I'll go through everything and post the questions I have thus far.
Good to know about Shadowpact. I'll skip over that one for now, since that was likely next on my to-do list. I'm also lead to understand that the post-Watcher/pre-Drake Batman is mostly a hallucination, correct? I would imagine when I get ready to do those, I would leave those issues out of it as well.

That's correct. Exactly what was strictly a hallucination and what actually happened would be up to Drake. I don't remember how much if any of Wachter's Haven involved Batman but that would be canon as well.

All of Jordan's Batman run is a hallucination.
Wachter's 'Haven never involved Batman. He was mentioned, but never seen.

I don't remember how much if any of Wachter's Haven involved Batman but that would be canon as well. Cool, then we'll deal with that once we get to it. Now, onto the questions. This is based on me just having gone through Ultimate Aquaman, Ex Machina and Superman in detail thus far. But if the answers are revealed elsewhere, don't be afraid to say so. - In Ex Machina, the Great Machine makes his debut helping to save people from a fire in the Queen Hotel, in Metropolis. Is this named after/a part of the Queens of Star City's holdings or just a coincidence?
- How old is Lois Lane presently? More specifically, what year was she 16? Winning the Pulitzer Prize at that age is pretty significant, especially since it also lead to Superman making his way into journalism and Metropolis. It should be on the timeline.
- In Ultimate Aquaman, the agency capturing the heroes who now make the bulk of the prisoner population in ARGUS is the DEO, Director Bones and his squad of Manhunters. What relation does the DEO have to ARGUS? Does Director Bones have a role within the organization? Should he and the DEO not be public claims as well if they are tied in together?
- There doesn't appear to have ever been a definitive account of Brainiac's assault on Metropolis (which I've placed on New Year's Eve 2006 to keep all the series that have referenced it with dates in continuity. It works out so far, we'll see if anything else contradicts it). As we've occasionally discussed doing collaborative stories and event type stuff, might it not be a good idea to finally get the actual event into a story? It's pretty important to the history of the universe - potentially even this universe's 9/11, but we don't really have an accounting for the event itself in any of the stories that I've come across, just after the fact references.
That's the first batch of questions. I'll just wait for people's notes and thoughts - anyone wants me to adjust or correct something on the timeline, the character write ups or anything, feel free to let me know as well. Some of the dates are inferences I've made, and others might change as references in other series get factored in.

The only thing I would suggest regarding the timeline is to not sweat the details too much. Especially on a site where 12 issues can take a year, getting everything down to the month (or sometimes even the year) isn't always important, aside from big world-shattering events like the Brainiac attack. Sometimes specific events might be moved a bit forward or backward than when they appear to be.
- According to Adrini, the Queen Hotel name is a coincidence and has no relation to the Queens of Star City.
- Let me get back to you. I think once you get into exactly how old characters are / were at specific points it's not as important. I was doing some research on a Marvel title when I found out that in the Agent of SHIELD TV series, Agent Simmons supposedly graduated the SHIELD academy a year before she joined.
- The DEO eventually either became ARGUS or was merged into it sometime between the end of Ultimate Aquaman and the present. Exactly when and how, and what happened to Director Bones, is unknown. Possibly could have something to do with when Amanda Waller took control of ARGUS (or even founded it).
- There isn't a specific account of Brainiac's attack on the board, just that it happened. I think at some point doing the Brainiac Attack is a great idea, though I'm not sure which characters besides Great Machine would be involved considering a lot of heroes hadn't even gotten origin stories at that point and Superman was absent.

Unfortunately for the broken brain that produced the pages you guys seemed to enjoy, not sweating the details isn't standard operating procedure. Can't help it. Like I warned you - most of the questions are going to be inane, but it's the kind of shit that, no joke, keeps me up at night pondering. To me this is all a great puzzle, it's fun trying to find ways to make all the pieces fit together, but I just want to be careful, I'm not simply imposing my interpretation of things.

Ok, so the latest update to the continuity project has Ultimate Aquaman, Ultimate Demon Knights, Ultimate Ex Machina and Ultimate Superman completely finished and cataloged. I'm going to be taking a break from the project for the rest of the weekend to spend time with family, but I'll resume again on Monday starting to tackle Ultimate GLC, Ultimate Hellblazer and the first Ultimate Justice League issue. That will complete all the orphaned completed series and start with the series with active continuity.
I've heard no objections with my continuing onto the active ones (but there's still time should someone not want me to touch his or hers, I wouldn't take insult from that), so once the orphaned series are done, I'll move onto the rest, probably from least to most cumbersome in terms of issues and continuity. Progress will especially slow down once I start going through the Batman and Green Arrow sagas since there's a lot there, but I'm sincerely looking forward to it.
It is my intention to be completed with the entire thing by mid-to-late September, then we can get it transferred over to the main site and we can figure out the next major task to be undertaken.

Just an update on things. We finally got Miller to upgrade Adrini and I to admins, and I believe Dob to head admin. So that happened.

It's been a bit since I've been able to work on this, the camp classes the last two weeks were absolute hell, but they're finally over and the little monsters are back in regular classes. God help their teachers, but they're not my responsibility anymore.
Anyway, the point is Ultimate Catman has now been added to the UDCU Glossary. On to Wonder Woman, hopefully by the end of the week.

I got to admit, I was going to add that myself eventually, but I'm actually more curious to see what someone else has to say about Wonder Woman. I'm actually looking forward to it.
