Wasn't quite sure if we'd manage to finish this in time but somehow it happened. *tosses crappy Issue 0 Filler pitches in the garbage*
This won't be the Captain Marvel you're used to. It'll likely be the darkest series I'm attached to. And the power of Shazam is not going to work like it does completely in the comics. There will also be other changes but I'm not gonna spoil them.
First issue is standalone. Details the history of Shazam and the Shadowpact. Gives you our origin to Captain Marvel and brings back a favorite from Hawkman.

Amazing first issue man. Love the leaping through memories and time. I didn't think this was going to be a dark series, but it's cool that it is. I think between the three of you, this title has the potential to be one of the best on the boards.

I really enjoyed the past memories of the Fountain of Youth , The Holy Grail and other elements tossed in. The trip through time and all was a nice touch. My only slight knock was... I wish there was scene breaks . Like with each flash , a scene break. Thats my lil knock there. lol. But good #1.

Understandable and something I questioned while writing it. In the end, with the events in Ultimate Flash being the cause of his premature awakening, the confusion and the feeling of things running together was something that I wanted to come across when one reads it.

Well conveyed. Messy, but in a good way. The way it is set up conveys a jumble of emotions as the memories slip in and out. An excellent first issue.

C_Miller brings you the first meeting of Captain Marvel and Doctor Fate. Next issue should start the 2 issue arc introducing Black Adam to the modern world.

I'm intrigued by Kent Nelson and can't wait to see his development into Dr. Fate.

C_Miller only brought you most of it. The final scene was re-written by wachter (fantastically might I add). I literally wrote that last part while I was nodding off. Not good...

I enjoyed how you've introduced Kent. I look forward to seeing how you incorporate your other characters, and magic in general into the UDCU. So much potential for crossovers. Good work.

Yeah I liked the introduction of Kent Nelson and the interaction he shared with Batson there. It was pretty unique. I liked #2 way more than #1. Maybe the tone worked better. It seemed more light hearted and all.

Both good issues. I felt that the first one got a little too vague in the memories. I know that was the point, but just my feeling on it. Second issue was nice. This Will is certainly different than the Billy we know. Keep em coming.

This Will is certainly different than the Billy we know. Keep em coming. I don't know why but for some reason, I wanted to do a Captain Marvel title but with a Vertigo/Mature spin to it. It'll really become apparent in the Run Away With Me arc as we deal with Freddie and Kid Eternity's origins. Captain Marvel really needs to be treated as what he is, a champion of magic. The World's Mightiest mortal. He needs to be able to stand side by side with Superman and go "Oh, you have superbreath? I just caused a tornado by blinking. X-Ray Vision? Who needs it when you can see the future?" --- First part of the Two Part Wayward Son arc is posted. Honor goes to Miller for Black Adam's origin. There's far more to that story and those of you who pay attention to JSA and Issue 1 of CM&tS know exactly who he goes up against. I also posted a bit of info on Will and two of the Forms of Shazam: Solo and Hallow. Hallow was Chris's creation. Solo, mine. I'm really looking forward to Beatz and Spark (Buck). I can tell you now, his other forms are less human. I'll leave whether or not there is an actual Captain Marvel form a mystery for now.

;_; Makes me sad that it's been a few days and only two views (one which was me) since 3 went up. Though still not as mind boggling as all the views for Spoilers 6 but none for 5.

I've got around to reading it! I'm trying to keep reading everyones' issues in order.
It was good. Go Teth-Adam! Took me a while to figure out what the Solo, Hallow thing was. Is there any form that is like the standard Captain Marvel? Anyway, great work. Bring on more.

"Captain Marvel" is usually the form most of The Champions of Shazam/Line of Vlarem take because they're adults and lack imagination. Part of the reason why Teth-Adam remains relatively unchanged. With Will being a youth, whenever he wants to cheat and get empowered, he can transform into whatever he wants. He has one for every aspect and I'll be posting them as they appear. They get decidedly less human after Hallow and Solo.
As for if Will has Captain Marvel... That's going to remain a mystery. For the most part, his understanding and how his mind works for Solo gives him the traditional CM powers except with an explanation instead of just "magic."

I really enjoyed Will meeting the Vampires and offering them a way out with magic. It was a nice deal and I did like seeing Teth Adam there finally at the end.

Just got around to reading #3 tonight, and am really digging the series. #1 and 2 were the first things I read when I first got to the site, but I never got around to reading #3 with everything else going on and trying to catch up on all the other series.
I am really looking forward to seeing what you are doing with Dr. Fate and the Marvel Family. Dr. Fate has long been one of my DC faves and I am interested in seeing the shakedown of grandpa Kent, Uncle Kent and Dr. Kent V.
I had one quick question, when Kent is talking to his wife, he starts out saying Indina, which I initially thought was her name, and then we learn that's not her name, but I have no idea what that referred to, if it was a name, or some other esoteric expression.
And just exactly what is ole Kent V. feeling guilty about-is there more to his relationship with his assistant than we have seen so far? Lots of hooks for future character development here, and I am looking to see how it all plays out, especially if you go with the idea that Fate is supposed to be a union between male and female as the late 80's early 90's series explored. If Kent V. is having certain indiscretions, then it may affect his development as Fate, and if he is a sucker for a pretty face he may be vulnerable to the wiles of Blaze or Satannus down the line...
so much fodder you have set out there, and I can't wait to see where you go with it.

That was just a typo I missed somehow. Chris wrote it and gave her a different name. When I edited it, I gave his wife the New Earth name and in my rush to get it up, I apparently didn't do a good job right there. Her name is Marissa. Mwuahahahahaha. Lets just say there's a reason why Will and Kent V. are so very diametric to each other. And it's in more ways than just believing in magic and having an imagination.

Finally, after the long wait, enjoy the confrontation between Shazam and Black Adam. Learn who Will chooses. And I hope you enjoy the ultimate take on a member of the Black Marvel family (inspired by Jackalope's Wonder Woman).
But wait, there's more. A big surprise in the issue that I reveal far earlier than I expected but fit so much.
Secret files for the Marvel Family have been updated.
Been a change in plans, since the three main writers have to deal with setting up JL and the summer events, the reins have been passed over to MRP who we can all agree does the magicalverse like no other for a two/three story arc.
Believe me. The outline he sent was pretty damn awesome.

Big Ups for #4. I really liked the issue and loved how you had Captain Marvel appear as the Shazam puppet form. The interactions between the three characters was well done and the tension between them all was so palpable. Great job. I onl yhope I can live up to the standards for CM & the pact.
So just to whet peoples' appetites a bit-my fill in will be a 2 parter called the Head of God, focusing on the helm of Nabu. It's set in the past-expanding on the scene in the prologue with Frederico and Leonardo.
wachter needed a break to work with the others to get the JL event up and running, so I agreed to do a few issues, but I don't want to touch what he is doing with CM in the present as I am enjoying reading it too much, so we worked out something to expand the backstory of the Shadowpact a bit since it touches on both our books. You may just see a member or two of the BoM cast with ties to the Shadowpact pop up in the story and we may get some insight into what the treasure of the Templars was (at least in our Ultimate DCU we are building). And it gives me a chance to play with Fate for a couple of issues (another of my favorite DC characters).
