The bare bones Secret Files are up. They'll be updated as the series goes along, but for now it's just to give you a visual of the characters for the first issue.

First issue is up!
I'm really excited for this series and I hope you guys like it. It's not a series that's going to go incredibly fast, but I hope it's still interesting and entertaining as we unravel the truth behind Jason Blood.
Let me know what you guys think!

Baby Etrigan still gets me every time I see it. Anyway, I liked it. Enough action to keep things going and the rules of magic is handled well enough. Though I didn't see any evidence that you put any original spins on it, but I won't deduct points for that. The pacing was good and it kept me interested the whole way. All in all, it was a very good first issue. IMO, the best one shown so far on the site. 8.5/10.

My only issue is I'm not sure how long ago the Camelot stuff is. Like, is it just a few years ago in another realm or is Jason thousands of years old? Besides that, brilliant issue. There's a real sense of terror from the demon and how it's scaring Jason just through its power. I've never been big on swords and sorcery stuff but I liked the Camelot sections just as much as the present sections, so well done on that. I'd suggest maybe putting the rhyming sections in a verse format to make it flow better but then again I'm not sure if it was intentionally disjointed and such.

*sobs in happiness*
Third time really is the charm. This was beautiful. Truly and utterly beautiful. Characters, scenery, setting... Everything was described. Even Jason as a character (personality) is understandable in both the the past and the present. Color me impressed, Star. Only complaint on that aspect of things is you let the ball drop a tad on the Past sections but that's something I can live with since you still covered the basics there.
The Camelot setting is really giving me a feel of Merlin the TV Series. I could honestly see Jason as Colin Morgan. Not sure how... But I can.
All in all, a great first issue. Very strong start. Poor Dawn.

Thanks for the kind words so far. @liquid: I debated for a time about stating the time period, ultimately choosing not to. My reason being to keep Jason a little more of a mystery. I will say by the second arc you will have a definitive answer. The Wonderful Wachter: I haven't watched Merlin, so that's just a happy coincidence I suppose.

The only experience I have with Etrigan is his appearances in the AU, so speaking from someone who isn't judging off a pre-existing standard, I say good job.
The blend between Camelot and modern times is nice and smooth.
If I had to compare this to anything, I'd say it feels kind of like Dresden Files. Then again, we haven't even seen the Demon yet.

Really enjoyed your first issue. I also wonder why you choose not to go with a verse format for the rhyming. Jason was introduced nicely. I can't wait to see the enigmatic characters you've presented to be revealed in full. Lots of mystery in here.
Keep up the good work.

Good issue Star, very well done. Your handling of the magic came across as well thought out and not just thrown together to be changed in an issue later.
Slightly echoing Wachter here but when I was reading this I couldn't help but picture it as a T.V. series, totally had a vibe as if I was reading a very detailed first episode script.

Really great. Nice take on the magic, reminded me a bit of the Dresden Files. Both settings seem cool and I can't wait to see how you expand upon them. Fantastic dark atmosphere created. Well written. Nice character descriptions. Keep writing.

Hmmm, enjoyable first issue from the initial scenes with the wannabe wiccans until the final reveal of the "skeleton" in Dawn's closet.
The opening scene reminded me of so many wiccan groups I knew back when I was in New England (in particular one group I met through my college roommate at the King Richard's Ren Fest who lived up by Salem (yes that Salem), so that scene rang very true for me.
There were a few typos and diction choices (principle/principal stood out to me in particular), but overall very well done.
As a big fan of the Dresden Files (Cold Days later this month woot woot) I have to disagree with bob and Jack, I didn't get that feel from it at all.
I am curious though, is Zenoin an original creation or some obscure demon from a tract somewhere that I am unfamiliar with-if it comes from somewhere I would be interested in hearing what the source is-the name is hauntingly familiar but I can't place it, but it could be a play off of Zenon. Grrr, too many years working with obscure medieval manuscripts during my grad school days, it all becomes a blur...

Zenoin is in fact made up.
It's interesting that people keep getting the feel of stuff I don't read/watch. I've not read Dresden Files, though I've heard its good. There is an influence to the way I'm doing the series. I'm waiting to see if anyone gets it, but it might take an arc or two for it to be apparent.

So I just got back and read the first issue. I find the Jason Blood, supernatural detective type of thing a pretty cool idea for the modern day, and I'm liking the set up you have for Jason in the past. I got the feeling that Morgaine is gonna screw him over but it's pretty cute that you've decided to show their relationship at this age, and a jason blood i'm not accustomed to seeing (the apprentice/rookie/teen) so that's been fun
though I wonder if/when the past/present frames will meet up, will they?

#2 is up!
More of Jason's past is revealed as things lead to the confrontation with the Zenoin. Next issue will conclude the arc, answering some questions and perhaps bringing up more.
Let me know what you guys think!

It felt like much more was happening in the past sections than the present sections, but aside from that it was an amazing issue.

I like it. Morgaine's character and development is really shining through. Of course it'll make things more awkward depending on how you handle certain aspects of Arthurian myth, like Mordred's parentage or Lancelot's relationship with Guenivere. Depends on what changes you make to the myth.
If I absolutely had to find something to criticize, I'd say that, while the past and present stories are both good, unlike last chapter I don't really see any connection between them other than a means of exposition. Perhaps that connection will be formed next chapter.
