I thought I'd take a moment to describe what's happening with Ultimate Wonder Woman.
I am still plenty interested in continuing Ultimate Wonder Woman. A few more chapters and we get to some plot I've been looking forward to since I started this title. Obviously things have been a bit hectic lately. No one's fault but my own.
The next chapter I would *like* to do a crossover with someone in particular. For the sake of propriety I won't say who in case they decide to decline a crossover for whatever reason. So essentially I may end up having to write two potential chapters, only one of which will be used, depending on whether or not the crossover happens or not.
Admittedly I'm playing some catch-up, but UWW remains the title I'm most invested in.

I'm just going to put this down in a list format 'cause I'm really not feeling full paragraphs and sentences now. BTW, I'm writing this up as I read the issue so it's almost a live blog of sorts but not actually live, haha
-Humor is good as usual. One of the better parts of the series. -Etta and Vanessa contrast one another so much it's wonderful! -CASSIE! Although she is based off New 52 Cass, so...meh. Well, she was a little funny, and she is still, well, Cassie Sandsmark so I'm happy to see her. -Batman! First GA and BC and now Mr. Grim and Gritty himself! I love it...which reminds me, I wish Jordan would return so he can put up the next issue of Gotham War. - "Justice." Brilliant! -And finished...wow. That Cassie scene. Take most of what I said earlier back. She's relatable, which is what matters. Relatable and a little pitiful. Oh, and KGBeast? Nice. He's a lame villain, but you're making him pretty sweet!
9/10
If there's one thing I can consistently tell you, Dob, it's that you're fun. Your stories are always entertaining to read. I look forward to more.
And onto Birds....

Etta and Vanessa are always fun for me to write.
I wouldn't say Cassie is completely based off her New52 persona, but unfortunately I won't be able to expand on that for awhile.
For the sake of clarity, Jordan approved the crossover for the outline of this and what will be the next chapter (another case of one chapter becoming two due to length). So even if Jordan doesn't return and batman goes to someone else, the current crossover goes as planned.

Caught up. It's nice to see Diana starting to learn more about the world. The bit with Batman was kinda fun.
The series as a whole feels like it's spinning it's wheels. Your issues are on the long side but it doesn't feel like much is being done.
Which brings me back to dialogue. I mentioned before how Vanessa and Etta's dialogue didn't ring true. Reading these last two issues, the trend continued. But I noticed something else. Your dialogue, to me, felt bloated. Like at times your characters were saying more than needed, making it sound unnatural. Especially in times of conflict when brevity is needed.
For example, when Diana and Batman met. Batman goes off on a tangent about why he's not the shooter that felt like it took forever. You have these two heroes in possible conflict, and Batman starts making a closing statement of a trial.
All those criticisms aside, I still maintain you are one of the best writers here. I just hope you pick up the pace a bit. Keep em coming.

I don't mind admitting that this part of the series in planning is about the middle of what I had planned out when I first started, and that this was the "slow" part of the plot. Really, the cameos by Green Arrow and Batman are what making this and the last few chapters interesting. As a bit of a teaser, After the next chapter which will finish up WW and Batman VS KGBeast, will be when Fire and Ice make their appearance. After that plotline (2 to 3 episodes) will be when, at least in my mind, the plot intensifies back up again. I'm not sure what all you mean by the dialogue, but I admit that between the comics and the manga I read, along with D&D and other stuff that does similar things, I admit to openly subscribing to the "Talking is a Free Action" trope. At least I'm not having fighters call out their attacks. Thanks for the compliments as always! I'll get the next WW up soon, though knowing my luck I might be a bit late this month.

I really like this issue. It was intense, exciting, and action-packed. The humor was toned down here, but rightfully so. WW's getting more and more personality each issue, and your Batman is still quite fun!
I really don't have much to say. 8.8/10. The only reason I'm not giving you a 9 is because I know it can get even better.

Well this was a long issue. Almost too long. Not really much to say about it. I was disappointed he was never called KGBeast. I know it's a stupid name, but it's also a fun play on words.
I feel bad for these girls. I really hope you at least offer some lip service to the fact that they should all be traumatized and having nightmares over everything that's happened to them. At least they should be seeing counsellors for this.
Keep em coming.

8,000+ words. It was indeed too long. Sometimes the words just spiral out of control and I get tired of having to split a chapter into additional multiple parts.
I figure at Argus he can be called KGBeast by people who just want to mess with them.

Next Wonder Woman is up. This will likely end up being a three-parter.
These chapters are starting to run away from me. I get halfway through what I have planned for a plot and I already have ~7000 words.
There's a large character development point I wanted to do more build up and reveal later, but the natural flow of events made it happen here.
I also tried writing a lot of really girly stuff that I have absolutely no experience in.
Anyway, hope you enjoy.

1. EDM music is redundant. 2. I hate you for using the word glomp.
I don't know, I appreciate the time taken for character stuff, but I found the issue boring. It wasn't till the end with the reveal and the very beginning of a fight that it got interesting.
Not that everything has to be action, I just think your pace was too leisurely up until that point. Too much minutiae that it bogged down.
Keep em coming.

This probably could have been two issues, just because of the sheer length of it, but I enjoyed it. There were some nice character moments, and you properly hinted at Vanessa's reveal without being too obvious. I like Fire and Ice, and I like their idea of "mature fun." That was great!
Over all it was an ok issue. 7/10. Just a little too long and slow for me.

Well, in my grand quest to have shorter chapters that are easier to post I have... 6000 words that have taken forever to post. -_-'
But the next part is up! Finally!
And I hope I can start a trend where I can actually post things more regularly now.
Yay.
Admittedly, Part 1 was me trying to explore more of the feminine side of writing, which is present in Part 2, but to a much lesser degree, and there is plenty of action, though not nearly as much as there will be in Part 3.
I will probably get Masquerade Part 3 done before my next issue of Superman, which won't be months, or even a month if I can help it. But first, other stuff.

I'll get to this later today. The length is just a bit intimidating for a quick read.

This was probably my favorite issue in a while. The drama flowed nicely, I didn't see the ending coming, and the cliffhanger was incredibly exciting. I will admit that I don't understand why Etta freaked out on Vanessa. Sure, she didn't tell her, but this was obviously a sensitive topic, so why berate her?
The humor was a bit weak IMHO, but Diana stood out like never before, her stance on violence and peace a sight to behold. 8/10

Can I still has pancakes?
Can I still has pancakes?!
Can I reach through my phone and slap you in da face? That line brought such a rage that even an Amazon could not have held me back!
Overblown rage at that line aside, it was a good issue. The multiple speak was effectively done at the end. Very creepy. I don't particularly care for Fire and Ice, but i can't put my finger on anything in particular so maybe it's just me. I just don't find them interesting.
Keep em coming.

The humor was a bit weak IMHO, but Diana stood out like never before, her stance on violence and peace a sight to behold. 8/10 Admittedly most of the humor comes from Vanessa and Etta playing off each other, with a side of occasional fish-out-of-water from Diana, but that's not always possible, especially when Vanessa and Etta have their own drama to deal with. That was a very difficult scene to write and it took me several tries and rewrites. Basically it amounts to Etta reacting to this revelation in what she now knows is the exact wrong. Part of it is subconsciously the idea that Vanessa might end up replacing her best friend with an Amazon superhero. Another part is that these two are very much still teenage girls without the full knowledge or maturity to handle such a thing. It's a teenager's sexuality coming into question, and even without homophobia it can still be a very touchy subject. Etta felt that Vanessa wasn't being honest with her and felt like an idiot, but the reality is this is the first time Vanessa's even considered the possibility she might not be straight. At least that's what I was going for. I'm allowed one stupid goofy line per chapter. It's in the rules or something. I'm, sure of it. Not everyone will connect with every character. They won't be sticking around for too much longer anyway.

Final issue of this arc is up.
I tried to include enough of a recap to hopefully avoid readers having to go back and read the rest of the arc.

I can't really attest to how well the review portion worked, as I made a point to go back to the beginning of the arc to reread. But I enjoyed going back, so it certainly wasn't lost time.
Everything does start to come together in this issue with a rather impressive fight sequence. I'm not super familiar with Wonder Woman so I don't know how much the Grecian mythology comes in naturally or how much you added, but it's all handled very nicely - especially for someone who doesn't exactly know or remember their mythology. It's never been a strong suit of mine, but you're able to show what the sword and shield do without having to stop for an info dump.
Another thing about the fight that's impressive is how well you're able to handle a fight with a diverse power set with Wonder Woman having no ranged or elemental attacks of her own was really nice. That can be the hardest thing to do and you stage it really well here with a lot of nice and different set pieces. Also as a big fan of the characters, it's rather pleasing that you don't absolutely job out Fire and Ice while trying to put over Wonder Woman. They're given the greatest credibility I've seen them handed in quite some time, including their corporate owners.
The ending promises another exciting arc with a classic, if not THE classic Wonder Woman antagonist (of course, I'm basing that on the fact that she was the only one who got Golden, Silver and Modern age versions depicted in the old DC Cosmic Cards set).
Can't wait to see what comes next from this one, might actually make me a fan of the character if you keep it up.

Glad you liked it! Writing Wonder Woman was one of the first reasons I came to the site, and if I ever had to cut everything but one title, I'd keep Wonder Woman.
The Grecian artifacts are added in, some are added powers, some (like the Sandals) explain powers she would have already had in the comics. I've always been a huge Greek mythology buff and putting my own take on some of it has been a lot of fun! Especially when some comics' treatment of mythological figures has been questionable.
As a side note, I probably won't be able to "catch up" Wonder Woman chronologically by the time Justice League starts, but either way I don't think there will be too many spoilers that people won't already have guessed.

Good issue. Good fight. I would have liked to learn something about Mask. Vanessa being capable was good, but the muscle tensing deal was a bit too much for me to believe. Unless the tiara gave her the idea or something.
I'm not sure how deeply the sword cut into Diana's wrist. It didn't seem to made clear. If it was deep then her hand would have been useless.
Keep em coming.
