Excellent end to the arc. Actually passed on watching an episode of Breaking Badto read this right now and that is the highest praise I can give as Breaking Bad is pretty awesome.

Finally got caught up. Good stuff. Max came off kinda like Shazam to me, which with something like the Speed force works well. Watch your tense, I noticed a few slips.

Bah. He deals with time and what not. Tense don't matter to him. Haha

Just caught up with issues 3 and 4. Really good stuff. Love the spiritual take on Max, really works for this title. Loved the exchange with Thwayne. Loving this title.

Well, in a super burst of inspiration, I got issue 5 up.
It's kind of a big change of pace. Really little in the way of mystical-ness of Max and the Speed Force. But it's told in vignettes of Barry's life off the island as Barry and as The Flash to get us up to the modern day a bit more. The next issue will take us even closer and then after my big announcement, we'll be effectively in the modern day.

Great. Super fun story. I liked the change of pace. The dialogue was well written, and the flashbacks were nicely paced. Funny to see the nod to the X-files. Great work man.

“This!” She slammed the paper on the floor, showing the headline that read: The Flash Returns?: Mysterious Streak Saves School Bus. “They even got Jay Garrick to comment on it.”
Best part.
Since you've told me to be honest with you, probably your weakest Flash issue yet. Happens to all of us. What Jack said was true, you did have good dialogue and the pacing was nearly flawless. But the story itself was all-in-all meh. Might have been too drastic a change from your first arc. Given what I know of your overall story, I know why you did it but that doesn't stop it being weaker than than your other 4 issues even if I only caught one spelling error off the top of my head.

A nice slow down from the island arc can't wait to see Mirror Master in this universe.

yeah, I have to admit that I was a bit worried about this issue. I'm glad it got a good response. I know a lot of people liked the island arc. But I have decided to do an X-Files type thing with this title. I'm going to have a lot of superhero stories with the Speed Force mythology sprinkled in between for flavor. The next two issues and possibly next three are going to be mythology stories, but after that they'll become fewer and far between.

While I'm thinking about it, I wanted to comment on the secret files features. Part of me enjoys them, but part of me wishes certain things would be left to my imagination.
Just my two cents. The same statement applies to all the secret files stuff across the site.

Caught up with the last two issues. They were both really good. I think the time travel deal needs to be a bit more clearly defined. Personally, I like time travel stories that have clearly set rules. Pretty much time travel either can change the timeline or time travel is a loop. You can't have both(looking at you Terminator franchise). I thought #5 was great myself. The psychiatrist was a really nice template to get through the years of time. I don't really like how much you defined for the JSA. Anyone who wants to claim them now has to fit their plans in with what you've established. But I guess at the same time it'd be weird to not mention them. The one fault I found, mostly in issue #4, is some odd phrasing and reusing that same phrase too much. Let's just say that reading about people running at "what Barry could only describe as super speeds" was not "to my pleasure." But yeah, really good job. Actually kinda kicked me in the pant a bit about spending more time on my Superman issues. Keep 'em coming.

Oh forgot to mention. I know you like X-Files, and I was fine that Agent Scully was mentioned. But then going so far to name drop X-Files and even make her Barry's ex girlfriend. Yeah...little shameless...

hahaha. Yeah. I wrote that scene very late at night and I was over tired. But one of my "trademarks" if you will is a stream of consciousness. I try not to over edit myself as I feel it detracts from my work. But yes, I agree it was a bit shameless.
As for the JSA, it more or less comes from my claims of Starman, Jay Garrick, Sandman, Hourman and Wachter's claim of Wildcat. The classic JSA is more or less all claimed. I certainly wouldn't say no to a modern JSA, even if it's only loosely connected to what we've already established.
Thanks for the review.

I really liked how you incorporated the X-Files into the Ultimate DC world in #5. I also loved the whole scene of him being ordered to see a Dr. due to him not telling anyone of his other job. Good read man.

Just finished reading all the Flash issues, was a good read. I thought the first four ranged from alright to good but that fifth one I really enjoyed. Quite liked the reappearance of John, interested to see how that turns out.

Thanks everyone. #6 has taken a very long time to get worked out. I'm getting some more work done on it right now. Who knows when it will be done though. I'm hoping I can get the next couple issues out in rapid succession. Because the ending of 7 somewhat ties into Justice Society.

Okay, I got up issue #6. I had a lot of trouble with this one. And I don't think it's as tight as it could be. But, it is what is. Thanks for reading.
