As a refresher, here's how claims work:
TITLE CLAIMS:
Use the format above to fill out your proposed title along with up to 20 claims, including Heroes, Villains, and Support characters. Wallpaper characters are free and do not count towards your 20 claims limit. Whether or not a character qualifies as Wallpaper is judged on a case-by-case basis. Generally it's reserved for minor supporting characters such as family members, friends, local color, etc. Sidekicks and villains, even very character-specific villains, do not count as Wallpaper. In some cases, legacy characters can count as Wallpaper characters as well. If you have any questions about who or what qualifies as Wallpaper, feel free to ask.
For all claims, please put the character's real name and alias, if both are applicable, whenever possible. A lot of characters have gone through different mantles and it helps make the approval process easier.
You can make alterations to your claims list once approved until you've posted your first issue. Once your first issue has posted you cannot make any alterations to your claims lists and must get a second issue up in order to make any additional claims.
CLAIMS:
Once your title has reached two issues you are eligible to make additional claims. You must have updated ALL of your current titles for that month in order to make any claims.
You get two monthly claims, plus one if you are writing a second title, plus another one as long as you've given a decently in-depth review to at least one other story, plus one if you donate at least one of your claims for public use (currently this only applies for ARGUS but more opportunities may open up in the future).
For groups, generally speaking you need to claim two members of the group before you can claim the group itself. (ex. Gold, Platinum, Metal Men (Silver, Mercury, Tin, Iron) ) In some cases, a small tightly knit group, or a group without any significant members and just mooks, may only be one claim. Some 'group members' may be significant enough that it's ruled that they need to be claimed separately. This is all on a case-by-case basis so feel free to ask.
SECOND AND THIRD TITLES:
Once you have at least four issues posted, you are eligible to claim a second title, following the same rules as above.
Once your second title has at least four issues posted, you are eligible to claim a third title, though the third title must either be a continuation of an existing title in continuity, or co-written with another author.
IN-CONTINUITY:
Your title is considered officially in continuity if it reaches six issues. There are very rare exceptions where a title has reached six issues and has not been accepted into continuity, but generally this only applies to titles that somehow sabotage other writers or obvious troll attempts. Generally speaking, six issues means in continuity except very extreme exceptions.
MASTER CLAIMS LIST:
The best source for whether a character is claimed is the Master Claims List which should list all the characters that are currently claimed as well as anyone claimed for past completed titles. The list is not always up-to-date though, and you can always ask about the availability to certain characters.
