Secret Files are up. As the series goes I'll be updating this with new characters and bios.
I don't like using real people in them, but I couldn't find a young looking Lex picture. Also you can just pretend those little red bars on Superman's sides aren't there. I don't suppose someone with Photoshop skills could remove them? If so that'd be awesome.
I'm hoping to get the first issue up today. Really depends on how cooperative my daughter is today.

I can try and see what I can do to remove the bars from Superman. I use photoshop for all my pictures.
I used that same picture for Lois in my secret files.

First issue is up! I know it seems mostly same old right now, but it was necessary to get the ball rolling. Believe me, there will be some big differences from the normal DC Superman. Just gotta wait and see.

I'll wait and see. I'm also curious to see if you go anywhere with the name you had Clark prevent Perry from saying.

Loving it. Hitting the ground running. Like Perry, amped to see Lex. Stoked at getting to see dc heroes get a new start on these boards, especially when starting quite young like Clark here.

To be honest, I loved it. You know, Ultimate Spider-Man wasn't exactly the most different from the original comics, but it worked at bringing the character to a modern audience. The change of making Clark a blogger was awesome. Really, really can't wait for more.

Felt really familiar but fresh in a way. Classic Superman story with a slight modern twist. You should give Clark an LJ for all those goth poems he writes in his spare time.

As I said, it won't feel like the same starting next issue. I have a tendency to write long issues though, so I didnt want to overwhelm anyone.
As for the blog, I also plan to post Clark's blog entries on occasion. Use it to tell little side stories outside the issues.

It was good writing and to the point. I like writing that doesn't dick around with elaborate backstories a la Stephen King. The dialogue felt awkward in some places but that might just be me. Overall it felt mostly like the same old same old, just like you said. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.
As a note: I hated Ultimate Spider-Man. Never could get into it.

I had a similar idea with something along the lines of Henchmen For Hire, Hench For Life, or Henchmen United (Haven't decided on the title yet). Tell the short blurb of the little guy right up to the point he's caught or gets away.

I enjoyed this new Superman take. Its classic to me. I know that some want massive changes to the established characters. But Superman is one that is as perfect as it gets. I did like the winks to Clark writing a blog and the internet. Plus the interaction with Lex and the woman he's in bed with , learning of this new man in Metropolis.

Issue 2 is up! I was pretty lazy last time when I put Revelations as the title, so I'm kinda being lazy again until I finish this arc.
Let me know what you guys think.

Excellent work. Really like the Lex-Clark-Lois triangle being set up. Really enjoyed it.

I can honestly say you surprised me and that doesn't happen a lot. Don't know why I never considered the connection between Clark and Lex (especially since I'm a Smallville fan) but I just didn't.
*claps*
Good move, Star.

Just got done reading the second issue, and since I forgot to post my review of the first, I'll tackle it all with this post.
First, I like your twists on the mythos. Making Lex both not a straight villain and aware of Clark's secret are both great. It adds some dimensions to the story, and the little glimpses we saw of Lex's anger and the hints of a love triangle I'm picking up on are hooking me.
My only critique of your writing is of your descriptions. At times you do a good job of getting them in quickly without disrupting your flow, like with Jimmy in the first issue. Other times, they are a little underdone, like with John Irons, or non-existent, as with Clark's ship. Something like an alien ship could come an a rather wide array of shapes and sizes. You don't need to waste an entire paragraph on it, but for stuff like that or the robot that got Corbain and his men out, the more details you can give us the better.
Can't wait for the next issue.

Characters I often try not to describe too much since, for the most part, I'm not making changes from the comic versions and we all know what they look like. I like to subscribe to the idea that if you give the reader the basest of descriptions, they'll fill in the specifics in their own mind the way they'd like it to be.
As for the ship, yeah should have described that. I think I tend to just assume people know what things look like since we've all seen these things in comics, shows, and movie so many times. I'll try to do better moving forward. Thanks for the input.

I really enjoyed this 2nd issue. It really gave a new flow to Superman and opened up interesting dynamics as Clark and Lex know each other. And how Lois Lane will play a part in it.

New issue finally up! Sorry it's taken so long. Some of the craziness is over so I'll be updating much more often now. And I'll get to reading everything I've missed.
Anyway we get another brief character introduction and a the promise of some action next issue! Let me know what you think.
