Anyone remember their first comic? I remember mine being Detective Comics #645. I only picked it up because I saw Robin on it. How about everyone else?

My first comic was an issue of Detective Comics with the Penguin and in it birds were overrunning Gotham. Next were some issues of Spider-Man and an X-Men comic here and there.
I've always hated Robin. In my eyes he's the worst thing to ever happen to Batman and if I had it my way, DC continuity would be retconned so Robin never existed.

It was purported as a jumping on point when the second X-Men movie came out. I actually hated New X-Men when I was first reading comics because it was so different and I wanted to fit in with the Claremont fans who called themselves the "true fans." I soon wised up.

I got into comics right at the end of the Clone Saga (saw the 4 issues collected in a bundle) and probably why Ben Reilly is one of my favorite Marvel heroes.

My parents bought this for me when I was little. Has some really awesome Superman stories. Like For the Man Who Has Everything and the original Superman Red and Superman Blue story. My parents also bought me some random Batman and other comics when I was little. I never got too into reading comics until the 90s X-Men cartoon came out. So the first one I bought for myself is some issue of X-Men.

started reading comics when I was thirteen, and that was three or four years ago. I started with Spider-Man (he was my childhood hero), and when I jumped in "Back in Black" was about to end, so I finished that (My first issue was Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #23). The outcome of OMD turned me off from Spidey, and that's when DC caught my eye.... ...I started with Batman (and right in the middle of Batman R.I.P. nonetheless, which was horrible timing) and tried to understand what was going on all by myself. It was a hard process, but in my mind it was well worth it. I soon grew to be a resident of the DC Universe, and I became a part of Battle for the Cowl, Blackest Night, The Return of Bruce Wayne, Batman Inc., Brightest Day and Flashpoint (was never interested in any New Krypton stuff). The only Marvel books I buy right now are Spidey stand-alone TPBs (on a rare basis), and the last monthly Marvel issues I bought were Marvel Apes.
While the DC titles I'm currently following will all bid farewell this September (Azrael, Red Robin and Zatanna).
