I know most of us are busy with our current titles, but for the sake of October, I feel I should at least put this proposal up.
Would anyone be interested in writing a one-shot Elseworlds title set in a horror-inspired "Nightmare" alternate world for Halloween? Like, for example, a Vampire Batman or something? This isn't an offer to write whole ongoing titles for another universe, just a short one-shot.
If there is interest, we can discuss the guidelines.

I really like this idea. I could see the community eventuall doing other "gimmick" months. Original Hero month, Original Villain month, Christmas specials, and a sort of One-Shot month.

And suddenly everyone's posted. Very well, let's do this.
Posting the basics for now since it's difficult to do actual editing while at work.
Here's the basics: Elseworlds will be a separate board category, with each universe being its own separate board. For this month, as a special Halloween treat, I'll open up the Nightmare Universe, a parallel universe where everything has a much darker twist.
For future Elseworlds titles, I may require writers to have an active title or complete a title or something. For October only, the Nightmare Universe will be open to all regardless of active or completed titles. Anyone can participate.
If you wish to participate, post a title claim in this month's claims list. You do not need to post a chapter this month to make a claim. You do not need to have the characters claimed for the main universe in order to claim them for the Nightmare Universe. However, first dibs goes to any writer who is already doing a title for the main universe. This means if you wanted to do a Nightmare versions of characters already claimed for the main universe, you still need permission of the main writer.
There will be a maximum of 10 claims per Nightmare title, which should be more than enough for a one shot (or two or three shot).
Any and all of this is still up for debate, in case anything rubs people the wrong way.

I've sent a pm to the one in charge of the characters I'd like to use, but he hasn't logged in in almost two months, so I don't know what's going to happen.
