IS SMALLVILLE A GOOD SHOW OR NOT??
Sorry, but I get so much conflicting feedback that it is making my head spin.

Starts well, ends horribly. Also referred to as "train-wreck" or "Titanic".

In my opinion Smallville dropped the ball more than it hit it out of the park. Although, a show doesnt last for a decade by producing utter garbage. It had it's moments. Still to this day I love their version of Lex Luthor more than any other live action version. It also gave us Chloe so that's something. The biggest part of loyalty I give it is it brought us the first modern day superhero show that paved the way for arrow flash Gotham constatine and whatever else is coming. Smallville proved that you could do a tv budget superhero show. Hell, it and supernatural are some of the only shows to survive the Friday death slot.
Smallville is what it is. A beautiful disaster.
Btw: first live action portrayals of green arrow, impulse, Aquaman, cyborg, Superboy, jsa, legion of superheroes, and doomsday.
I'm sure there's many more but I can't remember a decades worth. I was too young to watch Lois and clark so some of these guys may have been on there too

Also Black Canary. It started the trend of screwing up the couple also, which is one reason why I'm seriously considering walking away from CW entirely. They haven't learned.

You don't remember the Birds of Prey show? Ugh. I hated that shit.
I actually really like CWs dc. Arrow and Flash are my top two shows right now and I'm excited to see CBS's Supergirl and TNT's Titans.

Don't challenge DC. You know they'll follow up on it.

And I'm with cross. I love CW's DC work. The Flash and Arrow are killing it (although I think SHIELD is the highest quality of any of them). Flash is my favorite show to watch.

I'd put Flash and Arrow, in that order, as two of the best shows on Television at the moment, and Arrow this season hasn't been as good as last season.

I'm trying with Arrow, I am. I'm a LOTR fan also, so I'm used to changes for stories sake. I have to be, only way to survive.
But it's not remotely Green Arrow. And they are openly butchering and stalling the character I showed up for. Season one was really far back, but I told myself to give it a shot. Season two literally made me sick, I am not remotely exaggerating. DOB can tell you, he was there. Posed the first real threat to our marriage in the process. I had all kinds of hopes for season three, but they just aren't panning out. I'm not asking for chapter and verse, but openly mocking the aspects that define the character and world is too far. Right now I'm back to reading summaries and forcing myself to believe it will get better, but it's getting harder to believe. It's the only version of the comic I've loved for 20 years on the air and I literally have to talk myself into the fortitude to even watch it. But at least the Olicity shippers are happy. >< Suppose that's all that matters.

What aspects have they mocked recently? I know they knocked some stuff early before Ollie went through development but I haven't seen anything recently. And what do us Olicity shippers have to be happy about, she's looking like she'll get with Ray and Oliver can barely admit to himself a relationship won't kill him, literally.

Name of city - wrong
Name of key characters - wrong
Several main characters - missing or erased
Major over arching plot points - stolen and given to people who don't need them
Entire character backgrounds - stolen or erased, not rewritten which would have been fine.
I WOULD have been okay with Sara if she had had her own story line, but instead she stole it from her sister, like everything else. Does she have anything of her own? Cause if so I haven't seen it. Right down to the costume and canned canary cry. She's the sheer definition of a cheap knock off. Conisidering the hundreds of female characters in the DCU, there is no excuse for that. It's just lazy.
Also I have had it up to *here* with people calling out Black Canary, who happens to be the character alot of us showed up for. Somehow her bad writing her her fault, and she isn't allowed to be angry. Unlike Oliver who can get as mopey and self centered as he wants but it's magically okay. It's okay or it's not okay. Pick one.

Ah, I thought by your comment they'd done something new.
Yeah the complaints about laurel are almost always stupid, it's so weird that something the lead male character does all the time is okay but when the lead female character does it it isn't.

Sara exists because it gives laurel a reason to create Black Canary. I can get over the argument of "They changed things" by just remembering that this is their interpretation of the character and it's world. Whether they changed things or not they brought a version of Green Arrow to TV and it's successful. Before this there was only Smallville. (live action wise) I'm happy that we have anything at all.
Let me make it clear that Arrow and Flash are not my favorite shows on TV right now they are just up there. My absolute favorite show is Game of Thrones. Can't beat that.

I feel similarly about Game of Thrones as Adrini does about Arrow, sure it's perfectly fine but I'm not sure how they got what they got out of the books. I'm less than half way through season 3 because of some stuff I've read about.

I think that besides the final scene this episode wasn't as good as the crossover, it was still good and it did put a lot of stuff on the table that I look forward to seeing handled. But nothing really happened or was revealed, even the ending just raised a couple hundred questions.
