This is where you pretty much where you post from the oddest to the out right bizzare moment from the Silver Age of comics. And it is okay to post here just to react to it since it is doubtful a lot of us have comics from the Silver Age. I decided to this after reading Justice League of America #1. In fact, I barely even started and I have already encountered something that has made me just stop and go "What".
At first I was gonna mention Flash meeting two people with green hair and assuming they are aliens and being proven right. But upon rereading the page I realize that there are a bunch of other stuff going on that made Flash come to that conclusion. You know that says something about today's comics that Flash being casual over meeting aliens doesn't make me even blink. (Plus I already knew that before this Flash had already discovered time travel, so it is probable he faced aliens already)
The real moment that makes me go "What did I just read?" involves Wonder Woman on her invisible jet. Hoisting up the Statue of Liberty perfectly off the ground. While a lightning bolt strikes where the statue was previously. All we get is the following sentence. "Thank Hera my ROBOT PLANE matched the speed of that lightning bolt, or it would have destroyed the Statue of Liberty!" Nothing else. Just Wonder Woman hoisting up the Statue of Liberty. As lightning almost hits it. Not to mention that she feels the need to call her invisible jet a robot plane. Wonder Woman hoisting the statue seems plausible since she is strong on a god like level. But what is with the bolt of lightning? And why would it be possible to destroy the Statue of Liberty? Is magic lightning? Was it a super villain plot? I have no idea. What is your opinion on that last part? What other odd thing you found from the Silver Age? Any theories over what the hell just happened?
