Hello all
First of all, I'd like to welcome our new arrivals, leviathan and sliceofgold. So glad that you decided to join us!
Almost everyone was able to get their issues up by the deadline, which I'm very happy about. We're still waiting on wachter who is having some internet issues, so I'm granting him a little bit more time (He also said he could get two issues up in October) and shadowflame, who I'm not optimistic about. Not only did all the titles get up on time, we had perhaps the most successful day on the site since the start in terms of updating (tied in general with the day all the newbies like buck, wachter, Stardrifter and thereddeath came from gameFAQs). So thank you all for that. Just when I think the site's about to fail, you all prove me wrong.
Now, where do we go from here? While this was a great day, I do hope this doesn't become the rule of the site where all of our stories get updated on the last day of the month and the site dies during the rest of the month. While we do have a very small number, I hope that we can try to build a community out of this and that takes everyone. While writing is fun, it's pointless to do a site like this without the community aspect. I can post my stories on a site like fanfiction.net or superherohype.com or comic book resources and probably get double the reviews at least per issue. I also wrote Harry Potter fanfiction for a while and the site I wrote on, I would get 20+ review per chapter. But the best part about a site like this is that you get to know the people who're reading your work and they're putting up work that you're reading. That can only work if we all take part in the process. I'm not saying everyone has to read and review everything, but show some effort.
Also, I hope that people begin to get into some sort of rhythm with their writing and are able to update more than once a month or at least have people update at different times in the month, but I'm not going to try and enforce that. All of you are now good for September and now you must have an issue in for October. Regardless of the time you update in October, you'll be good until the end of November. You could update tomorrow and you're deadline will still be November 30th. So take that into account.
Again, thank you for making this an enjoyable five months. Despite a few hiccups (Elseworlds, my being totally inept at the claiming process, Marvel Unlimited), you have all been a joy to work with. I look forward to the next five months and beyond. While we still haven't met the peaks of the old sites, I never imagined that we'd be this successful. Thank you and I hope to talk to you all soon.
