I didn't feel #6 as much as the rest of the series. Maybe it was the whole spanking aspect that made me not feel the pure horror aspect of a serial killer or twisted fucker who abducted a little girl and she is lost in a basement that Josephine can never find again. It was an ok read but to me , not a high point as 1-5 have been.

Caught up with everything. Series is pretty solid. I'm not a big fan of how gruesome and disturbing it is, but that's just me personally. It's well written. Just...blech.
Keep 'em coming.

I haven't read #6 yet, but I have read the first arc. My only previous exposure to Crimson Fox was during the Giffen/DeMatteis bwahahahaha days of Justice League International/Europe, so I had very different expectations for the series than what I got when I read. And that was a good thing. Man, I like this series, it has a certain weird creepy vibe. I read a lot of issues here on the site when I sit down to eat lunch or when I am grabbing a late dinner after work. I had to change my reading habits after issue #2, I just couldn't read this series while I was eating. Couldn't do it. That saying something to, not many things can creep me out and give me the heebee jeebies that way. Great job.

Crimson Fox #7 is now up.
This is the first part of a short 2 part arc. Extra-light on the action content this time around. I spent 5 pages basically moving pieces around the game board. Tune in for #8, Skin pt 2: Give Me My Sin Again.

Finally caught up and it's all great. So different from your Aquaman. Honestly, I would think that it was by two different writers if I didn't know better. That shows a lot of depth, which fanfic writers tend not to show all the time. Just by that, we're lucky to have you as a writer. This title is just wonderfully dark and I love it for that. Honestly based on this issue and the last issue, I think I can safely call this the darkest title we have here. If you'd have asked me last May, what the darkest title on the site would be, it may have been Hellblazer or Batman or perhaps a Suicide Squad title, but Crimson Fox wouldn't have been on there. I'm not to familiar with her source material. Is she a horror character normally, or is this your Ultimization. Miller, thanks for the kind words. Sorry I'm just now replying to this. No, Crimson Fox is not normally a horror character. She's from the Jurgens/DeMattias (sp?) run on JLI and JLE, back when comics were humorous too. Before the 90s. I read those as a kid. She's also been in some Global Guardians stuff, but is mostly underutilized. Taking her in a horror direction was all me, and I'm glad that I did. I'm really enjoying this project, and glad others are too.

Really great as always. Having her not being able to find the cellar again added a great surreal-ness to the story. Paris has to be the creepiest city in our Ultimate DCU. I look forward to seeing what you do with Nightrunner. I'm not picking up on the overall narrative yet, except the fuck-ton of creepiness, but I'm all aboard for where ever this title goes. Make sure and read #8 (coming soon). Many of your questions will (maybe) be answered.

A nice catch your breath issue that lets you reestablish the status quo and set the stage for future developments. Nice bits with characters all the way through. Keep it up.

Wow, fucked up as usual. I love it. Nice to start to see the links between the villains. The Dark Father, the Red Whore, it all sounds ominous as hell. Can't wait to see where you take this title.
Go Crimson Fox!

Chapter 8 is now up.
Next month, we'll flashback in time to 1985 and the Cirque de la Lune Noire.

I enjoyed #8 and it was a good wrap up of the initial conflict with Doubedare. There may have bene a few proofreading issues though-not sure-was the title supposed to be Give Me Back my Sin or was it supposed to be Skin? Context of the story makes more sense for Skin, but it said Sin. Also, when Fox recovers after the initial assault she says I know bad guys use guys but in context guns made more sense since you just mentioned Kevlar and her surviving a gunshot, so not sure if that was a typo either.
They weren't huge, but they did take me out of the story a sec to scratch my head and figure out what you meant. Still a good issue and looking forward to where you go from here.

To clarify on the title issue: Skin part 1 was called "Sins of the Flesh" and part 2 "Give Me My Sin Again". Thanks for reading!

Very well done issues. I enjoyed the action. It was written well so I always knew what was going on. I felt the end was a bit of a copout. I understand not wanting to kill your characters off, but having all that done only for them to be fine in the end made me feel like it had been pointless.
Keep em coming.

Chapter 9 is up. A look back at how Aliki and Margot became Double Dare. Also, the first appearance of the BIG BAD! Stardrifter, I hope that this makes the ending of the previous issue feel like less of a cop-out. I can totally see how you would feel that way. But as you can see the Double Dare girls are certainly not "fine." Especially Aliki. They're gonna be with us for a while.

That was twisted. These two have a crazy origin. I love the sense of dread you build in your issues. Very well done.

This issue was just...eh. The flashback felt like a summary rather than a story. Double Dares complete lack of dialogue and characterization pre-transformation made it rather sterile. I don't know these characters as normal humans. I have no concept of what they lost which took all the emotion out of the tragedy.
I guess what I'm really saying is that you had so much potential to tell a heartbreaking, emotional story and lost it all. Just a shame. Keep em coming.

Like Star said, I think the issue could have had more emotional impact if we saw more of the girls before, but it was still a good issue and added to the general sense of eeriness in the book. Plus, it does make it feel like they have lost all sense of their humanity and even thinking back cannot evoke any feelings of that lost humanity.
A few (humorously intended) complaints about the issue...
#1 cat suits with bare midriffs bring up bad memories of the 10 minutes of the Halle Berry Catwoman movie I sat through...never a good thing...damn you oberonfrost!
#2 Starry Night references reminded me of an ex-g/f who was obsessed with that painting and wore a similar Catwoman costume to a Halloween party-the end and break up was bad so not a pleasant memory...double damn you oberonfrost!!
#3 after reading of the Circus of the Black Moon I cannot get the tune of 'Entrance of the Gladiators' out of my head, triple damn you oberonfrost!!!
#4 Marisius description reminded me of the appearance of Kalibak in the original Harryhausen Clash of the Titans and now I have a hankering to watch it except I lent it to a deadbeat former player in our D&D group who never returned it...quadruple damn you oberonfrost!
oh and a proofreading note, you used know instead of no at one point..quintip..nah that's not so bad....
now I have unpleasant memories and bad music running through my head all because of you and this Crimson Fox issue...grrrrrr!
Seriously, this series continues to be one of my favorites, but let's see a little more of the Fox in upcoming issues-love the villains and supporting cast, but more main character please!

I agree that Crimson Fox could use more Crimson Fox, MRP. The family of villains I've been working with since issue 1 are going back in the toy box for a little bit now. For the next few issues, we're going to switch gears and things are gonna get a little more super heroic for Vivian and her alter ego. That's not to say it's going to get "lighter" because it is still a horror story, but I think you'll like where we go before Marisius and his bunch show back up.
Sorry to have stirred bad memories. Hope your head has cleared them out by now.

I honestly love the villains you have used. The Double Dare twins and Doctor Poison are very cool. I think the Double Dare twins are the best villains this site has had really. I am finally caught up and love the back story and the fact you spent #9 on the origin. I wish you had went into more detail of them as kids , them joining the circus and the horror they went through to get the immortality personally. But I loved the arc and can't wait to see what happens with them next.
