Woo hoo! First review. I loved the start of your series. Strong opening introducing all of the characters and main antagonist of the first arc. Can't wait to see more of both the past and the present Of the storylines.

Dear God that was good. Very strong kick off and you definitely give a strong sense of mystery throughout both time periods, which works since the title is called House of Mystery. But, even though you don't really know what's going on, your writing has a real clarity, so it's easy to get through with out feeling bogged down with confusion.
I know next to nothing about your characters. Gotham Central is next on my list and all I've read of the Doom Patrol is Morrison's run on the title, so that might not be my best judge there. And I have no clue who Kipling is, but you develop them well and definitely open doors for future stories.
I really look forward to more.

Just read the first issue. Great start. Took me a second to realize part one was House of Mystery and the scene in the past was House of Secrets...loved it once I caught on though. I am really looking forward to seeing how the rest of this shakes out.

I guess somewhere along the line my brain switched gears, but I think in future I may try to do something with the House of Mystery/ House of Secrets dynamic.

Call it fortuitous synchronicity then...or a happy mistake. Of course if you never gave us that peek behind the curtain we would have all just kept basking in your cleverness -M

Had a nice police drama feel to it with a pinch of the occult. I hope I can do nearly the same amount of quality work on the Grayson backup.

I like the twist on the police story with the occult section at the end. Very entertaining.

This actually reminded me of Fatale by Ed Brubaker. Don't know if you read it or not, but it definitely had that police drama with a creepy vibe to it... I know I already reviewed, but I just thought of that.

Very good starting issue. The only issue I could bring up, if you'd even call it an issue, is that until the end I felt like it was just a typical cop drama. Like something I could find on Law and Order.
Which isn't necessarily bad. As it was written well enough to be on something like L&O. It just wasn't something that would keep my interest on a site about (mostly) super heroes. But then the magic at the end really amped it up. I look forward to that continuing.
Keep 'em coming.

More. Now.
Give me more, now!
Please?
Seriously, well done first issue. I really dig police procedurals mixed with occult stories. It brought to mind the feel of early Dresden Files stuff, specifically the short-lived tv show. A few typos throughout, though most didn't detract from the story, there were a couple that made me go "wait, what's he trying to say?" before piecing it out.
Very much looking forward to #2.

Got the new issue up an ready to go.
Sorry if it feels rushed. Random tasks kind of leapt out at me mid-May and really take a bite out of my down time. Sorry for being lax on reviews of titles for the same reason. Hopefully once I'm settled in my new apartment this month things will slow down a bit...
Hope people like the issue. Cheers!

Great second issue. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't any more story set in the present with Willoughby and Crispus, but the past story is engrossing enough to have kept my interest throughout. I want to see what happens between Crispus and Kipling when Kipling comes clean-was that the source of the split that led to the current status quo? Inquiring minds want to know! -M

Another solid issue. You do the procedural writing well. The occult twist is interesting. I do hope in the future you write a real mystery, where we don't know who the killer is. Keep em coming.

I like how the villain is being built up. Showing and not telling. I'm not too familiar with Zazzaz (Can never remember his name), but as far as I can remember he hasn't been a cult leader like this before, and I really enjoy this depiction of him.

I really liked this title. Law and Order meets the occult kind of deal. It saddens me that you had to drop this. I was really liking Zsasz and Kipling. All well.
