#1 is up!
This is obviously a very different take on the He-Man mythos. I was worried I got a bit too expositiony at one part, so let me know what you think.

Beginning to post Secret Files too. Please don't read them until you've read the issue though, as there be spoilers.

As a He-Man fan from waaaaaay back when, I'm probably going to end up being more critical of this title than most. That said, I also kinda hate I'm going to be the first to comment on it.
That said, the introductory issue left me with more questions than answers. Unfortunately, it wasn't in a good way. Truthfully, it felt more like half an issue than a full one, despite the length.
There are a lot of things I like about MotU, and there are a lot of things that could be changed in any of the incarnations over the years. Out of them all, I'll say up front hat the live-action movie adaptation was my least favorite. I've been more pleased with He-Man in the times his Earthly ties and origins have been removed. I know you wanted to bring this into our shared universe, I'm just not sure about the path you've chosen.
For an old fan like myself having things shifted so drastically is a tiny bit off putting. However, I'm open-minded and curious so I'll continue reading. I have faith that once things really get to speed, we'll be seeing something more akin to the He-Man I've known my whole life.
Well written though. Excited to see how this pans out.

I'm a He-Man fan from back in the day myself. He-Man is actually the first cartoon I remember watching, and we have family videos of me running around at about 4 years old in a He-Man shirt and calling for the Power of Grayskull.
So I know where you're coming from. Obviously I've set up some mysteries that aren't resolved yet, so I hope you give it the benefit of the doubt.
As for tying it in with Earth, comes with the territory. Sure I could just have everything set on Eternia with not a mention of Earth in sight, but then what fun would that be? I have no interest in writing a title here that has no connection to the rest. If I wanted to do that I'd go to fanfiction.net or something. I think it's cool to see Adam looks up to the JSA and Superman. And who knows where things will lead.
Also I'd like to point out that, even in the original cartoon, He-Man was tied in to Earth. Queen Marlena was an Earth astronaut who crashed on Eternia. So He-Man is half-Earthling anyway.

I'm not really a big fan of the first issue. I'll give it a re-read in a bit, because it wasn't the writing itself which was bad, it was just a bit confusing. I barely remember He-Man from when I was a kid, so I guess I just forgot about the earth origins and got caught off guard sort of. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it just left me with a lot of unanswered questions. It seemed like as soon as it felt like He-Man, the issue ended.

Okay I am going to differ from the chorus and say I really liked this issue. As a big fan or sword and sorcery fiction and fantasy in general, He-Man was always a concept that intrigued me but the execution always left me cold. I think it was a timing thing, as it came out as I was hitting high school, and while I felt comics had grown with me, cartoons still felt childish (G.I. Joe and Transformers debuted around the same time and I have similar feelings towards them too-the only cartoon from that period that I am fond of was the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, which was horrible but I still loved it because it was D&D).
So not looking at it as a MoTU revamp but purely as a story with a potential sword & sorcery/fantasy twist, it was very good. I liked the characters of Adam and Lyn. The exiled prince living in fosterage and hunted down by the evil tyrant is a classic fantasy trope, and it was done well here.
The issue ended on a cliffhanger, and it was a little abrupt, but did leave me wanting for more, so that is a good thing.
Maybe your villains might want to look into some glamers to disguise their appearance if they are going to continue operating in the public of our world though...but then again, neither villain seemed to be much on subtlety.
Looking forward to the next issue...

Second issue is up!
I know some of you weren't happy with the first issue, but I hope you keep reading. Events are still moving rapidly and we get a good chunk of explanation this issue. Though there's still a lot to discover.
Let me know what you think!

Read the second issue, and I am enjoying the series so far. Still following pretty standard classic fantasy tropes of the exiled prince learning his lost heritage after being in exile after his parent's kingdom was conquered, but well executed and fun to read.
