You got married, it's to be expected.
It's an exposition issue and I actually enjoyed Superman coming across as slightly vulnerable to Lois during the interview. I think in my mind and through the various mediums, I'm so used to that interview being him radiating confidence and sureness and SUPER.
Do have one question though, during Supes (not Clark's) talk with Lois, did you mean to switch between Lois and Ms Lane?

Yeah I mean he just got more comfortable with her so he called her by her first name, is all. I am definitely trying to make the Superman come across as more human. He doesn't know anything about his Kryptonian heritage, so he can joke and have fun even as Superman.
Which isn't to say DC's Superman doesn't do that, but you certainly don't ever think about him that way.

Just read #1 and it was good. One thing I really like was Perry's mention of newspapers as a dying business. That scene truly made this retelling more modern. Will read #2 next.

Wachter nailed my feelings on the issue. Really enjoyed the look at a Superman who is more man then Super.

Cool. All good stuff. Nice to see the relationship developing between Lois and Clark (but what will Lex think?!?). Anyway keep it up, I look forward to seeing Supes fight some good ol' robots.

I just finished the first issue, I'll post more as I work my way through the rest.
Superman is my #2 all-time favorite character from pretty much anything (second only to a certain wall-crawling web-head) so this was a series I wouldn't dare miss. It also means I have a lot of expectations though...
What I liked was the characterization of Perry White. You really expressed a very faithful and believable incarnation of the classic character while also combining the very really cultural shift to modern technology and the dying print industry. I went to one of the top Journalism schools in the US (for Art....don't ask) and I knew a lot of J-school majors. Its a real issue in the industry and you captured that hot topic very well.
Besides the use of "Crap" your characterization of Clark was pretty straight forward, and I can see that you're forshadowing issues from his youth undoubtedly attached to his use of his powers. It's interesting, but unfortunately brings up the biggest problem with the issue. And truth be told it's not even your fault.
Superman is a character that is plagued again and again by re-tellings of his origins, not just in extra media forms like film and television, but even in the comics it seems we get a new coming of age variation of Clark becoming Superman every other year. I had really hoped the "Ultimate" Superman would begin in a new place or do something radical enough that it was a fresh origin. Instead it's so far just slight twists on an old favorite.
But again, that's not really your failing. You write well and I'll continue to read your current issues and see where you take the character.

Nice, a new clean Superman for an ultimate universe. The fight was cool, well paced and very Superman. Liked the Metallo origin, well written.

The first article of The Copy Room Floor is up. I don't have much experience in writing articles, and granted this is meant to be Clark's informal blog, but I hope it's okay. The Copy Room Floor is just meant to be a place to highlight little side bits from Clark's perspective.
Let me know what you think.

Good one. Really great to see Clark's character explored more than just 'bumbling guy in glasses'. Seemed the perfect level of formality for a blog. Great work.

I really liked #4 and the relationship with Hank Henshaw and John Corben. How poor Hank felt betrayed by what he considered his friend. So he basically at the end creates Mentallo as revenge.

I caught myself up with this and I must say I'm really digging it. I know there are people who have different interpretations of what we should be doing here, but I have to say I really like that this is something familiar, yet extremely modern with little twists here and there.
Look forward to the next issue.

Issue #5 is up!
Sorry this has taken so long. I plan to really hunker down and focus on writing more often. My goal is to get at least two issues up a month.
Let me know what you guys think.

Really great. Nice origin for Parasite- will be good to see him in action. Liked seeing Clark in his home setting. Good stuff.

Oh wow. This was great. I'm a big fan of quiet issues, but at the same time this wasn't a quiet issue. My favorite parts were certainly the ones with the Kents. I love the dynamics you've created between The Kents, Clark and Lex. They definitely all feel like real people, which is a plus. I'm interested to see where you go with Lana. I wrote Superman for a short time at the original UDC, when we had the "reboot" and I had Clark with Lana as opposed to Lois.
And I must say I love all the writers throwing in little bits about the Justice Society. It makes me feel important. haha.
Great issue, keep it up. I feel like you "get" Superman, which is not something that can be said for a lot of people.

Loved this issue. Love the Kents. Love Lex. And Turpin and Sawyer are being set up real well.

I really got into this one. I think Ultimate Superman is one of my favorites here. Because it seems so natural. It flows so well in what we do here. I mean you basically have a great setup where Rudy becomes Parasite. Well I didn't reconize the name so I was pleasantly surprised by it. Then you did the tough thing and have Jonathon Kent ask his son if he's ready to kill or be killed. I really liked this and the fact Morgan Edge by accident created Parasite. Nice read for #6.

I really liked 5 and after reading three issues in a row, I'm starting to enjoy your style more than I did in the beginning.
