Ok so with the new threads for continuity, wallpapers characters, character sharing, the JL event and the Futur Dark Side event, there is a lot of world building going on, which is Awesome with a capital Awe ;D
However, my question is-how is that world laid out? I man I know the traditional DCU geography is loosely defined with Metropolis in Deleware, Bludhaven in Jersey, Gotham on a Manhattan like island off the coast of the tri-state area, Hub City is Massachusetts, Star City in the northwest, etc.
Bu what does our DCU geography look like? It would be nice if we had a reference thread for key locations instead of having to track down references in stories.
Do we want to define their locations or keep them vague? If we define them... where is Gotham? Metropolis? Opal City? etc.
I think I vaguely remember a mention of Metropolis in Delaware in Stardrifter's Ultimate Superman but I may be confusing it with a thread I read on CBR a week or so ago when Kurt Busiek pointed to Delaware as the traditional location of Metropolis when it is defined.
The only 3 pieces I have put out there in Books of Magic is that the nightclub Bewitched is in San Francisco, Baron Winters' Mansion is in Washington, DC, and Madame Xanadu's shop is in Greenwich Village on Christie Street in NYC, all of which follow the DCU locales for those places. -M

Gotham and Bludhaven are both Jersey. Opal City is Massachusetts. Fawcett City is in Oklahoma. Keystone and Central are like Memphis and West Memphis but in two states I can't remember. Seigelville is on the gulf coast of Texas. Kahndaq is near Egypt. Bialya is across the water in Asia from it.
And that's all off the top of my head.

Opal is in Maryland (Not Massachusetts). Calvert County to be exact, on the tip of the penninsula between the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay. It spreads across the entire area of that land mass, but it's pretty thin so it's a mid-size city. Kind of like a Buffalo or Hartford, maybe even Charlotte at its greatest. It's small enough to have some small town mentality, but big enough to feature some of the benefits of large city life.
Keystone City and Central City are in Kansas and Missouri respectively, right on the border. If they weren't in different states, they'd probably be the same city. The only thing that separates them is the subsidiary of the Mississippi River called the Waid River. Keystone is a working class city that's quickly turning into one of those amazing shrinking cities like Detroit. It too was an auto giant that rivaled Michigan's Big 3. Central City is a city that's more art based. It has Central University which is one of the best colleges in the Central Mid-West. They city is riddled with museums, science centers, theaters, concert halls and stuff like that. I'm not sure where exactly their placed in the states, but probably closer to the south.
Kahndaq is on the tip of the Sinai Peninsula on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. Bialya would be across the Gulf from it in the Northwest of Saudi Arabia. It's north of the Hijaz region.

Booyah! I was so right on the Twin Cities being akin to Memphis and West Memphis... And I had the M right for Opal. Was I right with Fawcett? You're the one that placed that.

Also, as far as the Continuity topic, you should put a fresh topic that's a bit more organized than either thread.

I actually put it in Iowa, but I figured you changed it. Not a damn clue, I'll have to go back into CM&S 2 to see where you placed it. And yeah, I was going to do that for the continuity board. It's why I said "Official."

This is awesome, by the way.
I don't think I have anything to add to this at the moment, but when I do, I can assure you I'll 'Upload' All the information I can about the Authority, and their locations here. This, interestingly, is also helping me with my US Geography.

Part of the reason I gave Oliver Queen a real city was the fact Chicago didn't seem to have anyone there right now in the DCU. In fact the last hero who was in Chicago from what I remember and comics I have... was Hawkman in the 1990's. So I decided , ya know ...its not really represented and it would be nice. Plus its a real city in a stream of fake DCU cities lol.
St.Roche is basically to the West of New Orleans. Its near Lake Charles by the Gulf of Mexico as well.

I'm hijacking this thread for now. Besides trying to find out where our the locations are for the official topic, I'm going to try to include the heroes there. So time for me to do my favorite thing and change texts BIGFRIGGIN' ANNOUNCEMENT! iF I MISS YOUR CHARACTER*, OR LOCATION, POST HERE CORRECTING ME.
THE FOLLOWING LIST IS TRUE AS OF SPRING 2012 IN UNIVERSE *This list is mainly for Heroes, Villains, or Anti-Heroes that have a constant Base of Operations and are recurring for more than an arcI'd also like to state, as much as I know you guys like to avoid spoilers, please suck it up and give me the hero/villain if I miss it. I'll be revealing my own spoilers if you pay attention for the sake of continuity. If you don't want it obvious, then just PM me and I'll add it to the list subtly. ---- United States of America Bludhaven, New Jersey

Also once Shadow mini-series happens (cross your fingers , its supposed to start this month finally once edited) , your gonna see that Shadow worked in Gotham at one point. He may relocate though. I'll discuss that with C Miller and see what will work best perhaps.

The city of Atlantis is located in the Bermuda Triangle.
The Royal Atlantean Empire (Also referred to as Atlantis), however, covers 70% of planet Earth and has cities, towns and tons of infrastructure all around the world.

Alrighty then another geography question-what is the geographical relationship between Gotham and Bludhaven vis-a-vis the Gotham River-does the Gotham River flow form Gotham to Bludhaven or from Bludhaven to Gotham. I vaguely remember a scene in the Batman comics when Bludhaven was first introduced were bodies dumped in the river in Bludhaven washed up in Gotham, but I cannot remember exactly and I no longer have my 90's era Bat-books (gone in a move long ago).

Check the Bludhaven map. I think it does.
And I, Lantern has the highway that connects Bludhaven to Gotham.
