If it's the character in name only, you're not really 'transplanting the characters to a different medium'.

Its for money. Let's all be honest with ourselves. With the success of Arrow, Green Arrow comic sales have gone up, giving DC the balls to greenlight possible shows like Hourman, CW Young Justice, and even the Flash. That's right. The Flash. The Flash is getting a show. A hero who is famous for running fast. A show. The public wants to see the Flash. Because of Arrow. On TV. Do you need any more reason for them to do what they do on Arrow?

I got net back!
First thing I did was get caught up with Arrow. While it took a CW Drama turn for these two episodes and the focus on Laurel, I did mark out for the endings of both episodes I missed. They even do those "surprise" at the end of the episodes (Deathstroke appearing/Waller recruiting) better than Agents of SHIELD and they do it without the whole "stay tuned for our tag that we do like the movies!"

Wow...that episode....
Seriously, it was fantastic! One of my top three favorite episodes yet! Everything up till the end was just really solid from me. And as for "the end" I mean the Ollie/Sara moment. Christ, that was forced! I mean, they have chemistry, but the show's been pushing the Olicity thing so much it just felt wrong.
On a different note, Nyssa's one of Arrow's better villains IMHO, and Sara really shined this episode. I'm definitely cool with her being Canary. Now I only hope they don't kill her off for Laurel to take up the role. The showrunners can't be that clueless, can they?

I thought the episode had some of the worst ACTING of the season but daaaaaaaamn. That action. Arrow VS Nyssa. Arrow and Canary chasing Nyssa down.
And geez. . . Moira, I had almost started to forgive her and think she was on the right track then she went and did that to Felicity. It's wrong when I'd vote for Blood and that guy killed his own family. >_<
The ending wasn't forced. It's been established that Ollie enjoys booty calls and he's not sure what's going on with Felicity, especially when she's pining for Barry. It "feels" forced because the second you heard that music and saw that Ollie was shirtless and frustrated, you knew that...
Bow chicka wah wah.

Yeah, Ollie has a serious sex addiction. Like, a real problem. It's actually a bit funny, I think, that the only Queen that's been able to indefinitely keep it in their pants is Thea. Now I know why she's grown on me so much, haha.

No Roy and no flashbacks this episode. I liked it well enough. Even had a joke about Ollie once Nyssa and Sara made out.

I thought it was a strange choice to have no Roy this episode after last week's ending. As for the Flashbacks, there were some. It just focused on Laurel and Detective Lance instead of the island. Season 1 had an episode like that which focused on the undertaking.

Oh yeah, I meant island flashbacks. I should've been more specific. I think I forgot about the flashbacks that weren't island related.

Yeah, the Roy thing caught me off guard as well, but I still really enjoyed the episode.
It looks like we've got a real team now. Amell and co. hinted at it before the season began and here it is: Ollie, Felicity, Dig, Roy, and now Sara. I like 'em all.

Who do we have to pit them against, hmm?
Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Deathstroke, Nyssa... I think Felicity is the only one missing an evil counterpart.

I'm hoping we get a kick a$$ battle between Team Arrow and the Suicide Squad over the next season and a half.

There's an upcoming episode called Suicide Squad and another called Birds of Prey.

I hadn't seen the Suicide Squad episode title, but I did know about the Birds one. That's really interesting. I look forward to some kick a$$ fight scenes.

For all that's it's worth. It's nearing the third season and is really putting that word "adaptation" through its paces. I can't watch this peice of shit as it really is getting me stressed enough to punch something. However the producers "vow" they are going to fix Laurel, introduce Mia and actually remove head from sphincter in the future so I would like one favor. I try to read episode summaries so that on the off chance they remember what the green arrow world actually is I can jump back in. (At this point all I'm asking for is barebones basic line up, this makes me "picky") However all I can get are vague events and "will Oliver and Sarah save the day!" Promotions. (Cause why bother having a main character before season four when you can have her made up sister in season 2? It's not like Dinah Lance is *important* or anything.) Web site or filling me in, I just need to know the bare bones events so I can jump in later. Either works. And yes. The show really hurts me that much. Just how it is.

So that was a good premiere, not as good as last seasons but that was all about showing the new board after season 1 tore it down, this was about rearranging the pieces on the board so it wasn't able to be as big. Ray Palmer was awesome, though I have no idea how like his comicbook counterpart he is. Seeing Felicity and Oliver finally going on a date was great, even if it just resulted in a return to the status quo. That ending though, it really came out of nowhere and felt really quick and unsatisfactory. It was obvious it existed more for what will happen because of it rather than because it fit the story being told, it almost felt like the end to a different episode. But still even not amazing Arrow is still damn good T.V. and I trust the writers enough to be excited for this season.

I thought this was a better season premiere than two's which I think makes it fairly obvious I loved it....and I only watched the last 30 minutes! Vertigo was cool and clearly hinted at some change of roles this season (coughLaurelcough). Ray, if not INCREDIBLY Ray Palmer-Esque, did show the heart of the character AND he was incredibly entertaining. The ending was a big shocker. Totally didn't expect that so soon. Loved it!
Adrini, you shouldn't watch it yet, but....
SPOILERS
Sara is dead, leading Laurel to inevitably become the Black Canary.

I thought this was a better season premiere than two's which I think makes it fairly obvious I loved it....and I only watched the last 30 minutes! I actually thought the best part was the first fiteen minutes or so which allowed Oliver to actually be a human rather than The Arrow for a time. When he went back into superhero mode it felt like it was just doing the same stuff it's done before whereas the beginning was something different. I understand it had to have the superhero part because it was a premiere but it still was a let down.
