I liked it. I will say it felt like I was jumping into the middle of a story. Not in the sense that there wasn't an origin or what not, but in the sense that this felt more like issue two or three. I had trouble following some parts. However, I did enjoy it quite a bit and I look forward to where you go from here.
I'm very glad you picked this title back up.

Everything should be elaborated on in the coming issues.

Dude, great work. Right into the action, look forward to getting to know the characters and their relationships. The situation they are involved in right now, though sparse in details, seems compelling and it'll be great to see it develop.

I agree it was a little jarring to jump right into the action, but as long as things get fleshed out in an issue or two it should be fine. Good issue. Keep 'em coming.

I got a little confused with who was who in the action, just because I don't know the characters very well yet, but the action continues to be good- you are keeping your momentum. Keep it up & may God (and Checkmate) save the Queen.

I agree that too much is going on when we don't really know anyone yet. Its not hard to follow, but its hard to care about anyone. Keep em coming.

I agree with Jack and Star's sentiments. I don't think that you need to have an origin story to start out, but you definitely need to introduce the players. It is well written and it does make me want to read more. Which is definitely the most important part.

Ok I liked #2 more than #1. I finally got a chance to read both parts and I walked away liking #2 a lot more. Because there seemed to be more of a pace to it. You had the characters do more interaction. I liked the relationship between Flagg and Bronze Tiger. I also like the whole fact Eiling doesn't seem to care he is hurting Captain Adam. I think later you can do origin stories for your team. How they came to join Checkmate and all. Good read man.

Issue 3 is now up. Issue 4 is going to be a Captain Atom issue and is something I've wanted to write for awhile now. Hopefully it will help with some of the issues you guys have had caring about the characters.

The action was good and you're telling a good story here. I have the same criticisms as before, so I won't harp on them again. But this is just a different style of story telling you've developed. Right now your characters are vehicles for a story, rather than the stories being vehicles for the characters. It's not my preference, but it's certainly valid.
Keep it up. I definitely look forward to issue 4.

Good end to your first story. Would like to see some quieter scenes to get some character development, but the action was good. Look forward to seeing how the Captain Atom story plays out.

Didn't care much for all the chaos but maybe that's cause I read it at 4 in the morning and couldn't keep along. Loved Captain Adam's little arc though.

Knocked a good portion of issue 4 out last night and I am really liking it and I think all of you will too. It will probably be up around the beginning of the month.
Just so everyone knows the point of Checkmate is to monitor the superhuman population and to ease the concerns of the public by having there be superheroes that are definitively on the side of the average joe. If any of you desire to use Checkmate in your titles just let me know.

Your style makes it a bit hard to tell what's going on at points but by issue three I had started to remember the characters names so it became alot easier to tell who was who and what was going on.
Other than that I did enjoy how it all just kinda started, no real intro. I always feel an opening like that lets you make a real good first impression of a character or characters in this case. And most of them did so I feel I have a good idea on the team dynamic which is an essential part of a team comic. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the Cap. issue.
Also it would appear both of our ideas share the trait of our heroes being there to make the average joe feel safe from this world of masked superheroes. Since mine is a military project and yours seems more like a special forces team I would definitely be interested in using Checkmate further down the line for an issue or two.

I'm always looking for ways to help weave UDCU together so just let me know if you think of something they'd be useful for.

I really liked the ending as they manage to save the day. But of course Eiling takes the blame from Waller for this mission not going as well as she wanted. I really like this Checkmate and can't wait to see the origin issues for the team as you go.

Got issue #4 up and this is an issue I've been wanting to do ever since I started Checkmate. I really hope you like this issue.
