Nice brief issue. Looking forward to where it goes from here.
I really liked how you set up the issue with the debriefings as a means for the story to develop. Something I think would've helped with the issue as a whole, and possibly would've helped address the "sympathy problem" MRP mentioned, is if you had shifted perspective back and forth between Tiger, Flag and the other agent more often, not just the switch and continue. Just a thought.

Alright so just put number eleven up. Number Eleven is a two parter that is also laying the groundwork for the events of the rest of volume one. Buddy Blank and Tom Tresser are the featured agents.
As always hope that you guys enjoy.

Still behind but catching up. #4 was much better at developing and rounding out characters while still moving a few major long term plots forward. Capt. Atom, Sasha and Dr. Cross come across as much more rounded characters this time around. Plus I am looking forward to more of the development of the Suicide Squad being put together by Waller.

#11 definitely has it's interesting points and establishes some interesting facts about our ultimate Earth. The idea of mass produced Captain Atom soldiers is frightening.

I loved #11. I think this may be the best Checkmate issue that's been put out thus far. As a real student of the Cold War, this is really what I was hoping the title to have been all along. It really feels like Daniel Craig James Bond in the best way possible with large personalities on both sides of the issue and letting underlings duke it out.
And like oberon said, the idea of a mass produced Captain Atom is absolutely horrifying.

Ok stil catching up slowly but surely. I finished the Great Ten arc and read the intro to the Suicide Squad issue.
Overall the Great Ten arc didn't work for me. The cast got too big too fast and everything happened to fast to develop the regulars never mind all the additional characters, and in the end it just felt like names on the page rather than real fleshed out characters. As such, I just never invested in the characters or the story.
The Suicide Squad intro on the other hand, was much better. A smaller focus and more time spent on each character made it feel all the more real. Arthur Brown's character lept off the page and Waller and Flag oozed with menace and intimidation. The rest were a little less developed, but they were peripheral characters, so that's fine.
The next two are Miller's issue, but I hope to finish the run in the next week or so as time allows. Gotta see what those pesky Ruskies are up to....

Just finished Miller's 2-part fill in. Good stuff, but had some proofreading and/or diction issues here and there. Interesting twist at the end and I do enjoy Mr. Savage's appearances oh so much.

ok all caught up now. There is a lot to like in this series as I have said before, but there is also some room for improvement. Nothing new form me in that department-the series is heavy on plot and action and it is interesting plot and engrossing action, but pacing and too little character development makes it difficult to invest in the protagonists as they move through the plot and action. I've said his before and I know Buck has said volume 2 will address some of that, so onward and I look forward to the resolutions of volume one and the launch of volume two. -M

As a lot of people have said, I really liked the plot of this title. The action scenes are awesome as well. Although, they are ruined a bit by the same issue that MRP has. I got confused several times as I had to work my brain over time to remember who some of these people are. I don't think it is no longer an issue, but I was really confused onto after issue #6. C-Miller's guest arc was good and I had no issues with the apparent focus on Starman (Already forgot his real name...). I am hoping that I do as a good of a job with Suicide Squad as you did here.
