Someone who shall not be named spoiled it for me but it was still good.
Gonna want to go back in there and fix the left alignment you accidentally left.

Was good. A bit action heavy and not much character for an introduction, but it is #0 so hopefully #1 will have some character. Keep 'em coming.

#1 up. Hope you all enjoy. A bit of exploration of Jonah and the New West. Big shout out to my writing bro Buckster for his help. Feel good about this title. Look forward to seeing how the Marvel project goes...
Oh thanks to TKJ for him graciously letting us use his future. I almost feel like he's a silent partner in this project.

Now this is what I'm talking about when I think of Ultimate DC. Jonah isn't necessarily much different from his traditional counterpart, but he doesn't necessarily need to be. The drastic change in setting alone makes this one hell of a project. This is a beautiful companion to Batman, what with the Communion of Flesh arc. Personally, I prefer to let actions and dialogue reveal character as the story progresses, and I don't think you should change anything because we know enough to enjoy the story. About the only thing I'd do is proofread some more, but that's about it.
You both should consider using Reverend Blackfire's cult as a widespread entity in this future wasteland. And don't be afraid to touch more on the aftereffects of nuclear fallout in future issues, which you've done an excellent job of. Don't be afraid of using cybernetics to your advantage either. This has an apocalyptic vibe like Cormac McCarthy's The Road or The Walking Dead and it fits like a glove.

Glad you're liking it like Jack said we consider you like a silent partner who helped set up the playground for our title.

I thought it was good really. I mean we have seen some radical departures with Hex even from DC with him in Vertigo books and in the far future. So its not like you can't do it. But he works best in the western setting. Is "General" new for Hex's horse ? I never knew he named his horse. I did like him killing the cannibals on the way to the man he was tracking (and they ate).

I really enjoyed #1 . I thought it had a very good vibe and I liked the coming industrial age touch to the west . Plus the ending has a Vertigo vibe to it.

Me and Buck didn't know a lot about Hex before starting this- but I found on a DC wiki site that he had a horse named General. It's a good name, and Buck liked the idea of having the horse as a bit of a character (me too).

Very good. A little too short, but it definitely has good vibes to it. It kind of reminds me of how I picture Firefly during the War of Independence. I love a good westerns and what I love more are Westerns that play with other genres. Great stuff, keep it up.

Yeah it felt like it was longer when I wrote it, but looking at it now it does seem quite short. At the same time though me and jack wanted to spend the first couple of issues just mapping out Hex. The next couple of issues will really ramp up the stakes in the title. We threw a hunt in to what the overarching plans or in this issue not sure if anybody caught it though.

#3 up, hope you enjoy. Explores the world, and gives a glimpse of Jonah's beginnings. Quite a long one. Buck and myself have big plans for this title and, without giving anything away, I'm looking forward to help making it happen.

#3 was a bit weird in some ways. Its like the timeline is really fuzzy. Then there are hovercars and all vehicles. And it really made me wonder what the timeline was for this series.

Ah well the post-apocalyptic future of the Ultimate DC Universe of course!
(2115 I believe- running along side TKJ's Ultimate Batman)
I don't know quite if it comes across but the technology is supposed to have advanced past our quite a bit, but because of the nuclear calamity that has fallen across America much of it is destroyed (especially outside the dome cities), but if you're rich and/or lucky you can still get access to it. Thus many crap cars/trucks, and the occasional hover-vehicle.

You said you were proud of this issue. For damn good reasons. That was great.
This issue had a really great vibe, I really felt like I was on the bayou and in the swamps. Definitely interesting set up you have here and even more interesting because I have some idea of where you're going.
One thing I'm a little confused about and I've been confused for a while. What kind of value does money have in this post-apocalyptic society? I feel like a barter system would prevail rather than a standard fiat money economy. If there is money, what's backing it up? Gold or Silver, because it certainly wouldn't be a government. Personally, I think Turnball paying him in livestock or coffee or fruit would be more realistic, but this is your story.
And that's a super minor complaint, but that's the Political Science major in me. Overall, very well done. Jack is going to have his work cut out for him.
