Sounds reasonable.
It also just occurred to me, perhaps as things grow perhaps in addition to a monthly claim list for ongoing titles perhaps a release list as well for those characters that you are willing to let another author take? Like say for example if GL's author realized he wasn't really doing much with Guy, hey could be "released" so that someone else could claim him for Ultimate Warrior. (ps not ever me. I like Guy better as a GL personally but it was the first example to pop into my head) This would help to encourage writers to either be using the characters or to let them back onto the market and would be a help to new writers as well.

Well, people are free to release characters anytime they want to. However, if you have already done something with them, that has to be maintained for all future writers, since everything is in continuity with each other. If it comes to it, I'll put up a section of the master claims list that has all of the dropped claims that are established in continuity.
Also, feel free to ask if you can have a character appear in another title. The worst that a person can say is no. I'll say it now that I am willing to dish out 90% of my characters for guest apperances. Just shoot me a PM with a proposal. But from my experience at the other site, people are generally willing to do so, but again that's not a rule, so just ask. No harm in it.

Although this really doesn't need to be posted, I wanted to note that Kyle Rayner will be appearing as a High School Student at Opal City High School in the pages of Ultimate Starman.

Well I don't know where Fox is but toriach, I'd get cracking on your titles. Fox can come in here and make it official with your snazzy new board and all that.

Yep. Everything checks out minus J'onn. I'll do up your boards and you can get started.

What are the chances I could get Blue devil, Red Devil, Indigo (android from Outsiders) and Poison Ivy for Zatanna. If KJ doesnt mind the Ivy claim...I don't think I saw her claimed by anyone.

Yeah sure. I'm sure Zeke will be okay with it. I mean, he's the big proponent of shaking things up here. He's probably the absolute last person I think would feel entitled by a claim. I'll fix up your master claims.

Go for it. I have no ideas for Ivy thus far.

Awesome. I'm very much looking forward to Dr. Fate. I've always be fascinated by his character, but never really read him except for the main JSA title from the late 90s. And of course the 2nd Title is always available. I'm a pretty big crossover fan, so I enjoy having a second title just to crossover with haha. I actually spent a good portion of tonight doing a bit of Urban planning for Opal City tonight and I'm very excited for that and Flash #2 will be up hopefully tomorrow. Very pumped with what I have planned for both titles. And I can't wait to read what you have in store. I'm gonna have my 1st Dr. Fate issue done in the next 2 days, so I hope I can deliver, LOL! I've been reading up a bit on him lately, but since I am free to change things, I'm also trying to do something different with him. I'm pleased with my outline of the story, and what I have written so far. I am highly considering on taking a 2nd title, which would be Shazam (assuming he is not taken, lol). I think it'd be a good 2nd title for me because he also fights in the Mystic realm a lot, so it'd make sense for me to cross them over.

I would like to request Death for maybe one appearance. I wouldn't use her beyond the 1 appearance . But as I was thinking here I will need her for that 1 appearance soon.

If you want to claim her, you'll have to claim her perminantly if you plan on using her. She will have already been established so there's not much people can do unless they plan on continuing with your ultimization. You can drop her afterwards, but she'd go into a dropped claims section of the Master Claims List. But you need one more issue before you can claim her.

I'll just wait til after i get the 2nd issue done and add her then.

I'm considering it, but Dr. Sivana is already claimed. REALLY hurts what I would have wanted to do with Captain Marvel. I still might, but I would have to rework a few things and decide who could replace Sivana.

The DCU has plenty of generic Doctors, Professors and Mad Scientists that should be able to fit the bill relatively nicely.

They do, and I'm right now looking at various options to fill that role. See who I like best. Oddly, one good choice is someone I already claimed for Dr. Fate, LOL!

A couple of different things...
First off a suggestion, what about adding a category to the claims list.
I mean there's already main characters and supporting characters. So how about for guest characters? It just seems silly to me to have to claim a character that you only intend to use for an issue or two. So I thought that might be a reasonable alternative.
Now to spiderfan regarding Dr. Sivana,
I have a proposal for you. If you're interested shoot me a PM and I'll outline what I'm thinking and you can tell me if it would be of any interest to you.

The only problem with that is that once they are used in a title, they are established to the universe therfore while they are available, they must be used in line with what has already come. The claim rules are not necesarily in place to limit the writers we have, but to leave more of the universe open for future writers.

The claim rules are not necesarily in place to limit the writers we have, but to leave more of the universe open for future writers. Which I do understand. But it seems to me that the simple truth is that continuity happens. *L* I totally get that you don't want people "hogging" up characters. But it still seems to me that some kind of reasonable alteration to the system to allow for guest characters makes better sense than having a system where a person has to "claim" a character, only to release it two issues later. Plus of course I'd say that a guest character still would count against the persons allowance for the month. Anyway I'm being briefer than usual, and as I said it's just a thought that occurred to me. These sorts of things always take some time to get working smoothly I find.
