I agree with everything except The Flash. The show can get serious and a bit angsty at times, but it's extremely lighthearted compared to all those other examples. I'd say it's the perfect example of the tone these shows and movies SHOULD be aiming for.

And was green Lantern dark and angsty? Because I've heard a lot of complaints about that movie and none of them are about it being dark and angsty. I also have to point out that we've seen like three seconds of Wonder Woman and while I'm sure she will be dark and gritty we don't actually know she will be.

They can *can* get dark. They all have *dark moments*. But they have no business being *constantly dark*.

Frankly it actually makes Batman less special if he's surrounded by brooders.

I don't think we've gotten a proper Batman yet in film, so I'm excited. However, I do hope it's more like the MCU in that Batman is the star in much the same way Iron Man is, but he isn't the ONLY star. I figure that's probably pretty doable.

Reviews are good. I never had a problem with the actor (never would have thought of Heath Ledger for Joker either). If it's gritty and Bats that works. Gritty works for Bats.
But I can't do more Bats.

I'm always suspicious of these unverifiable friend of a friend kind of stuff, but if true, it's absolutely ridiculous. But it certainly seems in line with what a lot of schools are trying to do these days.

Not super interested in any of the DC Movies, to be honest. Until we get a Cyborg Film, I'm not too fussed. Really not a huge fan of the rest of the grouping - the only other thing I am interested in is if they do a Martian Manhunter film. THAT would be fun.
I do love J'Onn, he always gets the raw deal, man.

This might be the most fascinating mental gymnastics way of interpreting what we've seen of Batman vs. Superman so far, but I'll say this for it, it's interesting. "The Thesis of a Plot Twist"

I agree. It was fun to read, but the author was REALLY grasping at straws.

Not related to the upcoming movies in any way, but an interesting look at why there wasn't a video game adaptation for The Dark Knight back in 2008. Fascinating stuff if you find the development of video games interesting:
