I admit, I'm having some trouble trying to figure out how to approach reviewing this. You were upfront in the way that outside circumstances have affected your decisions with the story as written, and I do think you did make an admirable job in trying to wrap up the loose threads and plotlines and bring them to a conclusion.
If the stories had the proper chance to percolate as you originally intended, there was going to be a lot of VERY interesting things going forward. Catman having not only a doppleganger to contend with, but both Ashram and the Monkey Fist Brotherhood being pissed, only adding to the many that want a piece of him, Cableman being who he was, and how that would affect not only Catman, but Armand Krol going forward ( a real shame we don't get to see the political ramifications of Krol throwing in with HIM in particular), the ultimate collapse of the VATF and their actions throughout their reign. There was definitely a lot to like with your overall arc and plans. It's a disappointment that we only got to see them play out in such an abbreviated way.
Being honest, I can't say I enjoyed the execution here, but I don't think ANYONE has ever been able to cram three or four issues worth of story into one short piece and have it come out as an enjoyable close to a series, or even stand as a solid issue on its own. But the fact that you tried, and at least ended things on your own terms instead of leaving them open to be possibly never closed, it at least helps.
Shame you won't be continuing with this one, but you certainly showed some real sparks with it. Hopefully a shorter format and a calmer time will allow you to continue your evolution as a writer. I'll be waiting for you to once again pick up the proverbial pen.
