Promising. We get Babs finally. ><
I'm sure it'll get better but just saw Laurel's being break out fight scene and she lost to a parked car. Just what I had waited 2 1/2 years for, obviously. Not happy with these people right now.

It was a joke, I think, and Laurel's ineptitude makes sense. Thea probably shouldn't be so good, but at least they're getting that right with Laurel. Frankly it makes me (at least) like her more. And don't worry; she'll get better quickly.

Anyway, Titans! I like the cast in general (never been a fan of Hawk and Dove). Can't wait to see the pilot!

Maybe she will. But between parked car fu and Olicity I'm quickly reaching too little, too late.

If this is set in the Arrowverse, and this actually is the cast I'm hugely excited, actually I'm excited either way but I really want the Arrowverse to get more superheroes.

If this is TNT, I doubt it'll be set in the Arrowverse, and I'll be glad for it. Arrow needs to go die in a fire.
This lineup could be good. Interesting that it's four female women with two men. It's rare you see a team that's not either more men than women or all women.

Promising. We get Babs finally. >< Don't forget the old, horrible Birds of Prey show! Someone on GameFAQs pointed out that it's a LOT of characters with a bird motif. And while I'm excited for a live action Nightwing, I'm gonna keep my hype in a box under my bed for now. So much could go wrong with this that I don't want to get my hopes up.

Ah, yes, Birds of Prey.
Still better than Arrow.

I have yet to watch Arrow, but I find that very hard to believe.

Ah, yes, Birds of Prey. Still better than Arrow. I'm calling bullshit on this. No matter what you hate in Arrow no one can deny that Merlyn, Slade, Ra's, Universe building, Flash, and Diggle are perfect in the show. I personally love Arrow and it's version of the characters. Birds of Prey was utter dog shit. The Batgirl suit was the only good thing about that show.

Yeah, Birds of Prey while not completely terrible wasn't really good, though the actress for Babs was great and I loved their Harley. Arrow on the other hand is a great show, ignoring how it works as an adaption.

I can very much deny that.
As much as I complain about Black Canary's character being butchered, in my opinion, Slade was worse. They took a cold-blooded mercenary and one of the best villains of the DC universe and turned him into a whiny, pathetic, revenge-obsessed "you killed my waifu" shell of what he should be. Merlyn isn't as bad, if only because he's played by Captain Jack Harkness, but he does suffer from villain-fu "You can't do anything to me because of plot armor." The only universe building it does are bunch of cameos that rarely if ever amount to anything and one-off villains that aren't likely to last more than one episode. Flash hasn't screwed up yet, but I'm not holding my breath. Arrow seemed like it would be good the first season too. Flash has so far been decent, not mind-blowingly awesome, but it's not offensively bad like Arrow. Diggle I liked until recently, where the writers have him SUPPOSED to sound like the voice of reason, but all he does is either blindly go along with whatever idiot ball Oliver's holding or give out the worst possible advice.
Arrow was okay in the first season but only because it promised something better than what we got. Season two completely destroyed all of the characters, not just Laurel who was turned into a drunk and pill addict, but Slade who got reduced from the morally ambiguous tactical mastermind who could take down the Justice League into a whining, revenge-obsessed psycho with poorly written motivations, Oliver constantly made the worst possible decision and every possible turn, they killed off the only entertaining characters, and instead of Dinah Laurel Lance becoming Black Canary, we get Sarah, an oh so original boyfriend-stealing Mary Sue sister who's just "oh so much better than that drunk Laurel" whose plots are ripped from the best of Dinah Laurel Lance of the comics, and Felicity the "we REALLY wanted to write Batman so here's Barbara Gordon lite."
And now we have season 3, when things couldn't POSSIBLY get any worse, they feed the shippers. They pair up Oliver and Felicity, only made popular by a subset of the fandom, even though it makes no goddamn sense and is more than a little creepy when before she was just crushing and he was acting as an older sibling/mentor figure. But now suddenly Felicity is his one twue wuv and act surprised when the Olicity fans act insane to the point of photoshopping pictures of Steve Amell's actual family to replace his wife's head with Felicity's.
Arrow isn't about trying to tell a story, it's a bunch of writers who couldn't get the rights to Batman and decided that Green Arrow was the Diet Coke version, ignoring everything that made Green Arrow his own character, and then instead of trying to tell a cohesive story, pander to the fanbase in the worst possible ways.
Arrow is the single worst piece of comic-related media I have ever seen. It's worse than Spider-Man 3, it's worse than Iron Man 3, it's worse than Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin. And I cannot wait the entire franchise to get rebooted.

I would rebut that but I think from the fact the only thing I agree with you is that Spider-Man 3 was bad and Slade's motivation was poor, though I'd say the fact he's crazy means his motivation didn't need to be great. I'm just going to accept we are never going to agree about anything in regards to Arrow.

No real dog in the Arrow fight specifically, as I haven't seen a minute's worth of it - not out of spite, just never got around to it though nothing I've read here has suggested I move it up on my list, nor has it inspired any faith in future adaptations, such as Titans.
But on the whole, I've realized DC is just the comic book equivalent of the WWE - they both have stumbled into some amazing characters but have no real clue what to do with them, they have potentially great characters they cut off at the knees at every opportunity and don't have the first clue about executing forward momentum in a way that satisfies the core of their audience. Even when they try to shift direction on the fly and give the audience what it's clamoring for, they do it in the dumbest way possible.
Yet somehow both have enough fans to keep going, enough to make me think that *I* must be the problem. After all, I liked Spiderman 3, and thought Batman and Robin was perfectly fine considering what it was supposed to be, so perhaps catering to my particular venn diagram isn't exactly a moneymaking proposition.

I'm not going to win this one. We'll go ahead and drop this argument since I know I'm not changing your mind. It is what it is.

So ya, I'm pissed at the show, but I'm willing to give it a chance to redeem so long as they can stop fucking up. The hubby? He wants it dead. Yesterday. Not kidding.
