As you can see, we've opened up the Mini-series board. Kinda saves us from having to continually make subboards for series side stories unless absolutely necessary.
There's really only one big rule about the board. You can't claim a character solely for a mini-series or one shot. That's been a rule since the start of this site. Which basically means a character must be seen or mentioned in existing series (As in: they must have presence in one of the team or solo titles every so often).
That said, some bending of this rule is possible. Say you want to write an origin story before the character shows up in your other titles, then contact me and I'll bring it before the other two admins for approval.
Other than that feel free to use any of your characters or characters you have approval of. Blah blah blah. It doesn't count towards your monthly requirements. Yadda yadda ya.
---
Anyone can post in the Upcoming Titles and anyone create a topic there. If the topics start to become hard to follow, I'll be moving them into sub-boards as needed. Until then, it stays like it is.
Please try to limit your discussions about the issues to this topic or whatever series they're tied to. We don't want to flood the board.

Not a bad first topic, Tkjernan. I'm actually a bit surprised one popped up that quickly. Fills me with warm, bubbly feelings. Solid origin story for characters I know nothing about.

Yeah, it just kinda hit me today that I wanted to put something out there it introduce the characters, who I think are both very cool, but only have slated to be in a supporting role for now, especially Warblade. Backlash will be showing up quite a bit in the mini/one shot section, as I explore what it means to be a Kheran and on Earth...

Fantastic start to the series. I honestly didn't expect it to be that late in the 1800s but that's okay. Grant is an epic president if only cause of his name and former job.
Hopefully I can have a quick little one wrote up tonight now that I'm all caught up with my issues.
Edit: Also EPIC origin to the Suicide Squad(s).

Yeah, on the Suicide Squad thing, I didn't plan that in the beginning, but then as I was writing it I though that was a pretty cool idea...

Fairly epic start to the series. Can't wait to see more elements of UDCU developed in this mini.

Within the next 30 minutes, TKJernan will no longer have monopoly of the board. It's a fun side story exploring one of the people that ends up with a power ring released by the Tree of Light. Title is modeled after one of my favorite books, "I, Jedi" and so is the writing style.

I enjoyed it and a very inspired choice for a Blue Lantern. Can't wait to see what ramification this has on spoilers.

He should have a major bit during my final arc of Spoilers RIP and then one of the characters starring in Lone Haven Knights. True question is if what he saw comes true or am I going to be cruel and follow a bit more canon.
Other than that, I haven't decided if he'll return home post arc 3 so I definitely need to build on his ties to them in Boys and Toys. I have considered he may be the costar in Ultimate Blue and Red if I do that as third title or another limited.

Blue Lantern One Shot=Brilliant. Thanks. Coming from you, that means a lot. My two biggest worries were establishing that it is hope that powers his feelings, not love, and then night-time training session. I winged it based on the oath that Rage would also be a decent counter to Hope.

Yeah, Rage is a good counter. I am not going to present it as a one-for-one counter, though.

I liked it. I think you did an excellent representation of what in my opinion, especially in terms of comics, the hardest of the color spectrum Lanterns to present interestingly. I liked the costume design too. Well done, kudos.

I liked the costume design too. Well done, kudos. Yes. Hope is quite hard to display and even mine isn't entirely clear that he hopes/dreams for the future more than it being any sort of "love." Then there's also the fleeting aspect of it which I think is part of the reason why Jross added some bonus skills to the Blues. As for the design, guy on Deviantart by the name of Jarein did it. I'm using quite a few of his designs as inspirations. I simply reversed it to make my Blue Lantern a lefty and added the M. Yes... That makes it hard to keep a secret ID but it's just so fitting for his personality.

Read all three out so far:
Warblade: Cool, know nothing about the character, it's a good introduction.
The Great And Secret War: Book One: I love this, great to see ol' Immortus structing his stuff, love the 1800s feel, heaps of potential. Look forward to seeing where this goes.
I, Lantern: Great stuff, for some reason it took me a while to click that Stephanie was that Stephanie. Awesome. Can't wait to see how and when this connects back in to your main Spoiler storyline. Thought 'Hope' was depicted well, as it's one of the more complicated ideas. Good job.

You know how when he first heard Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt," Trent Reznor said that he felt that he had lost a girlfriend because Cash had obviously recorded the definitive version of the song? That's how I feel about what you've done with Blue.

That's how I feel about what you've done with Blue. To be fair, I had a 11 pages and *goes to check* 10 in universe days in which to give the Blue Lantern his origin story. And after seeing what you did with Violet, I'm no longer worried I might have accidentally overlapped with love. Now you all have to wonder if I'll be as canon with his story as I will with bits of Steph. Makes the vision bittersweet.

Do you mean whether or not your story will be kept consistent with mine? Believe me, that won't be a problem.

Nah. I meant "Now I leave you guys to wonder whether he gets killed off like he did on New Earth."

Hey all. I posted the first issue of Ultimate Raven: Origins, which is a mini series I'm working on to give some context to some up coming storylines being worked on by some other writers.
Now there is a good chance that this will turn into an ongoing by me, so I hope you all like it. While I am enjoying everything else I'm writing, I really fell head first in love with this story and this character, so I hope that shows.
Please, please read and review. This is a story I'm really passionate about and I would like feed back.
