I liked it a lot. I think this would make an excellent series, and am eager to read more about her.

I enjoyed the issue. Felt a lot like Ryan's Zatanna, but with a much darker take on the college life.

Nice job on Raven, Miller, definitely your best first issue of a series. Other than some typos, it was pretty much what I like to see in a first issue.

Great first issue. Definite sense of mystery. I would date the shit out of Zarah- she seems awesome (I mean apart from whatever evil-hunting thing she's part of). Rachel/Raven was great as well. Should be good when continued.

Well, I'm working on Raven #2 and JSA #7 kind of concurrently. I'm really glad you all liked it. Like I said earlier, this is really a project I'm really passionate about the New Teen Titans stands as a pinnacle of comic creating and Raven's story was a big part of that.
And buck, Ryan's Zatanna was the basis of this series at one point. I decided that I wanted to do something with a strong female lead and something leaning more towards darkness. Picking up Ryan's series was one of the options and some of the things floating around my head at the time will end up in this.
But I'm glad everyone liked it. I just hope I can keep up the momentum next issue. Unfortunately there will be fewer drunk college girls... alas.
P.S. Jack, I love how Zarah being a potential demon hunter is what ruins it for you. Not the fact that she likes girls... haha. I have the same problem.

Just posted the first issue out of three for Ultimate Muscle. It's both a prelude to the next case in Odd man while introducing one of the major characters in the series.

Interesting start. As someone who hasn't been keeping up with Odd Man, I probably should start to see where any overlap may lead. Only problem I found is you forgot to capitalize the second word in proper nouns. (Red jet, River city, Swamp town, etc...) Probably would be R.C.P.D. too.
Edit: I've also moved Henchmen United over to this board to potentially encourage others to do their own Henchmen stories. I know Buck has one in mind. I just haven't had the time to write up the backstory for one of Metallo's goons from Superman that Cluemaster inherited and will become one of the new named villains accepting a mantle in probably the next Spoilers arc.

I really enjoyed that Raven : Origins read with Zarah and Raven. Both were foster kids and I liked the bluntness of Zarah shocking Raven at times. It was a fun read and can't wait to read what happens at the end with this murder . Nice end and cliffhanger.

Re: Raven Origins #1 First reaction-man I am so glad I am long past the college years On to the story-great first issue. I really like how you built both the characters of Rachel and Zarah and gave us a reason to like and root for both, and to root for their friendship to blossom, and then introduced the potential conflict between them. Great character work there. The mysterious older man is still a bit of a cipher, so I hope he is built upon in future issues. The area around Yale is such a great place to find any and everything you are looking for. I grew up in CT, and one of the best places to go hang out in CT was that area of New Haven. There were some great clubs and other venues, a top notch record store where you could find almost any classic vinyl you were seeking, lots of Gothic architecture, some great museums, and restaurants featuring just about every type of ethnic food you can imagine, etc. If you are going to keep it set at Yale, there is a lot of potential setting that will work well for college age kids that can flesh out your backdrop. Of course another city known for its Gothic architecture looms somewhere in Raven's future, so I don't know how long she will be hanging around New Haven. I am looking forward to seeing how this series progresses and where you take the character form there. -M

Ultimate Raven was really good. A bit light on the action, but I feel like that's expected in a Raven book, at least at the beginning. But, you've got me hooked, and if this does turn into an ongoing, I'll be reading.

I, Lantern was entertaining. But, it didn't really keep my attention the way I wanted it to. I kept stopping and coming back. But at least I kept coming back, right?

Ultimate Muscle was an interesting start. I'm looking forward to see the mini going forward and how it will tie into Odd Man.
Keep the issues rolling.

Yeah, short but a solid beginning. I like seeing aspects of culture politics in these settings.

Well after a few months delay , the Shadow mini-series has started. There was some things we hashed out editorial wise and what I had to change to jive with C Miller's JSA. But we will have a more back story and it will tie in to my Green Arrow soon.
Also written last fall , the series was to solve a problem we had voiced then. The origin basically is written to be that characters stand in , in present time. So I decided to solve my problem and try to solve the UDCU problem that some were bringing up then with the Shadow.

I don't recall giving permission to use Wildcat, especially an out of character Wildcat. And all in all, the entire JSA was done wrong in my mind. I find it hard to believe they would be let off their leash that early into their career or frankly when they wouldn't have the time given Miller's strict list of dates. Nor can I recall saying I-Ching could appear.

I'll delete it then. I had thought C Miller had the entire JSA. Wildcat included and I had pitched using I-Ching as the trainer and thought it had finally cleared then.

Might have did that to Miller but not me and I'm the one who is in charge of Limited, not him. All you asked was for the Shadow's origin to me.

Well I deleted it. I again had no clue Wildcat was claimed out beyond Miller. Its why we discussed characters and all then, I thought he had him . As far as working before Miller's date , he has them meeting in 1967. So before the date in 1968 before they become the JSA , it stands to reason they had worked awhile without a leash .
I'll later rework the Shadow concept in GA.

It happens and I finally found your permission. I did grant Wildcat's use but he was still grossly out of character. You asked for original Canary and Shadow. I-Ching was not mentioned. Apologies that you're the first one for me to have to bring the mod-hammer down on.
