And my first issue is up. Takes place a few months after the Spoilers origin I'll have in issue 1 and Ryan's first few issues of Detective Comics.
The scene is a homage to Almost Got 'im if you didn't catch that.
Other than that, I started it this way for two reason. From an interest standpoint, my first few issues shouldn't have too much in the way of action so I wanted to start off with a bang. The second was because I figured if we were actually producing this in comic form, it'd be a random backup in Detective Comics.
Hopefully it didn't bore you too much.

I enjoyed it and laughed so hard at the rock scene.

I thought it'd be amusing and anti-climatic to the story. Especially since he missed.

Gotta say, I loved it. The rock scene was hilarious, I loved the one liner about it being a spoiler. Really good stuff here. Looking forward to reading more about Spoiler.

Great stuff man, love the Flamingo reference (hope he might make an appearance sometime in the future), liked the dialogue.

Thanks. The Spoiler quip was part of my original outline and I debated taking it out since they're already known as Spoiler. Felt it might be too much. Decided to keep it since you as readers don't know who is under the purple hood.
Real king of killers and ace of assassins wear pink.

Not quite sure if I'll post a proper Secret Files like most of you. Haven't been able to find a decent picture for any of the girls out of costume and I haven't been partial to any actresses (haven't looked that hard). Nor will I be posting the Spoiler costume since I'll have an Ultimate version that tries to fuse elements of all 4 of the girls' with my own spin added.
Babs, on the other hand, is relatively simple but I'm keeping you guys in the dark until at least after the first issue. As for the bad guys... Origins, motivations, and places in the world will be altered but for the most part, any costume of looks of theirs will be only slightly tweaked.
Also, if you haven't noticed, I have the solicits up for the first two issues..

I thought it was a very good beginning. Though personally I thought you went a little too far with the homage to Almost Got Him. At first it was cute but by the time you got to the rock I thought it was overkill. To me anyway. Spoiler was very interesting. Seems very much a threat. Though I'll always find it hard to take a character named Spoiler seriously. I mean, what's she gonna do? Make my bread moldy?

Crime Boss's thought
Name: Spoiler Build: Petite Girl/small boy Color Scheme: Purple Threat: Oh....oh god, I can't stop laughing.
Meanwhile, all his men have been taken down by CC Spoiler.
I agree with you somewhat on the too much. The length got away from me and I found it hard to insert Spoiler into the Shed at the right moment. It was supposed to be only a short introduction into the Spoiler mythos and I got distracted by trying to do too much (teasing you guys with Shrike, joking about Flamingo). Though honestly, I'm not sure what all else I took from Almost Got 'im.
Card game: Okay, justifiable. It's a nice, easy out to make what would otherwise be four guys standing around talking somewhat interesting.
Rock: Really what I wanted. Possibly drew it out too long but I didn't want the story to just be "I threw a rock at him."
Robot: A nice nod to the fact there are multiple Spoilers running about the 'Haven.
If there's other nods in there that I didn't notice then it's just a fluke. I haven't seen the episode in years and only really remember the robot and rock jokes.

Wait. Your Solicitation topic AND your Feedback topic have the same name? Can't let a good pun go missed, so I approve. I dug it. I think tonally your style for this book will totally complement what I'm hoping to do with Blue Beetle.

I really enjoyed the #0 issue. I really enjoyed the card game they all had and never realizing the Spoiler game in. Nice touch.

Part 1 of Under the Purple Hood is now up.
The purple text is Steph's inner monologue. Figured I'd give it a try to make descriptions and a complicated bit of exposition more interesting. Not sure if the effect turned out as well as I hoped it would and may abandon it in later issues.
Issue 1 is told from Stephanie's perspective and most of Under the Purple Hood will probably be from her POV too so you fans of Cass will have to wait for the second arc to discover the ever increasing mystery about her and her father. Issue may be a bit on the boring side since I had to introduce around half a dozen characters but since it is a team book, that should be expected.

You are officially not allowed to write from anyone's perspective except Stephanie's...
Seriously man, brilliant. I loved it. I'm nearly certain you're not a teenage girl, but you got the voice down perfectly.

Feel kind of guilty for liking it so much. Steph definitely has my heart. Great integration of elements of other characters stories. Really great, keep it up.

I'm nearly certain you're not a teenage girl, but you got the voice down perfectly. ...but I want to write from other POVs. I'm looking forward to Cass and Babs. Even Beth now that I have a handle on her personality. While I'm not a teenage girl, I did have a female writer friend of mine go over bits of it first to make sure it wasn't too outlandish or go against the craziness of a teenage girl. Arguably a mistake since she's in love with Jason and wanted more of him. Feel kind of guilty for liking it so much. Steph definitely has my heart. Great integration of elements of other characters stories. Really great, keep it up. Why's that something to feel guilty of? And thanks for the compliment on integration. Not quite sure what exactly you're referring to (my individual character stories, the world at large, the elements of New Earth, etc...) but I tried to do it all for an Ultimate and encompassing feel.

I meant the world at large- ie. Flash and Jason, & the guilt is just from sometimes having the same tastes as a teenage girl when I'm a guy in my mid 20s... ^.^

Was really good. Not a fan of Steph's as more than Robin's girlfriend in the comics. The teenage girl perspective isn't my thing, but that's preference. You wrote it very well. Keep 'em coming.

I meant the world at large- ie. Flash and Jason, & the guilt is just from sometimes having the same tastes as a teenage girl when I'm a guy in my mid 20s... ^.^ Yeah. I'm trying to do that since Spoilers takes place in the fall and most of the other characters have already been active by then. Once I get a better handle on Wonder Woman, I'll likely be tying her in as well. And Steph has good tastes though apparently she forgot to put on shoes for school. Was really good. Not a fan of Steph's as more than Robin's girlfriend in the comics. The teenage girl perspective isn't my thing, but that's preference. You wrote it very well. Keep 'em coming. Thanks. Sadly, I can't do anything about the teenage girl POV... Well I can but it'll be awhile before a guy ever joins their team if at all. The 4 Spoilers are all teen girls (still wondering what the hell possessed me to write this). May have male POV switches for slight scenes but it is the girls' story. In other news, if you missed it, my sub-board is finally explained. Henchmen United Issue 1 is up and it introduces Arthur Brown as Ultimate Cluemaster. Also gives you the clue he left behind for you guys to guess at what his next heist is if you can't wait for Issue 2 to say the clue.

Secret Files and Origins version 1 is up. Apparently there may be a problem with one of the images so let me know if you can't see it. I'll be updating the topic per issue instead of doing it all at once. First up is the original Spoiler and the girls costume for Under the Purple Hood. A new costume will be introduced in the second arc.
Other than that, issue 2 should be up sometime today or tomorrow.
