Yo.
Issue zero up. Not much off anything, except for a little set up. I'm going to try and get up short but consistent issues like this. I think it's going to be a slow build, but I, like Mayor Hundred, have a plan.

Loved it.
The green text works really well for him talking to machines; putting him in Metroolis was a great idea can't wait to see what this title really has.

At first, I thought I would have trouble liking this. Then I got sucked into it and really loved. The references to Mezzaro's Superman were cool. I am interested in what else will happen. 8/10

Good.
I've never actually read a Machine Man comic, so I can't judge if there's any real discrepancies between canon and your version. That and, as you said, not much happened this chapter so there's not much to critique.

Actually, you mean Ex Machina. Machine Man is Marvel, also the main character is called Great Machine. Don't think I am a huge expert on this. I actually just googled all of this as soon as I saw the words Machine Man and thought "Isn't that Marvel? Better check to make sure." Google is a great invention and so is Wikipedia.

Nice teaser issue, the green text was a nice thought and for its length it presents lots of little questions I'm curious to see answered in the coming issues.
Since this is set in Metropolis, and with the references in the issue, is it safe to assume this will crossover with Mezzaro's Superman?

Yes, there's going to be plenty of crossover moments in the future with Mezz's Supes.

Like everyone else has said, it was really good. I was a fan of the first few arcs of Ex Machina but I kind of trailed off after that. It's cool to have in set in Metropolis.
Looking forward to more.

I've never even heard of Ex Machina, so can't really compare it to the comics. I like this though.

Was pretty short. As a #0 I don't mind, but I do hope the series proper are a bit longer issues.
That said, for what little we learn, you set things up nicely. You set a good tone and left us wanting more info. I also like that its entwined with Superman. Keep em coming.

Interesting 0 issue. Certainly has my interest piqued to see where things will be going. Ex Machina is one of those series that has been on my to track down and read lists for some time, but I haven't gotten around to it, so this is all tabla rasa to me, and I am strapping in for a hell of a ride I think.

You passed the unofficial substance length by a count of 42 words.
Obviously this series will be the source of many conspiracies within the heart of the UDCU explaining the life, universe, and everything.
---
I'm gonna go with a dislike on this one. Yes the writing is good. Yes the teaser has drawn my attention. Unfortunately, because of its length, you don't describe much of anything short of Mitchell's chest. Don't paint the scene for his apartment as anything more than he has green digits on his clock. The best part in terms of tone has nothing to do with Mitchell... It has to do with the city.
You missed a chance. Especially with the flipping of channels to try and give the world something of substance. I get what you were going for with this minimalistic style but it wasn't quite the right thing to do in this medium unless you gave just a tad more.
---
Have no fear. I doubt you'll be alone in a harsher critique than normal from me. I'll be picking apart everyone's first issues on whether or not they do a proper introduction. With this being a fresh start, it's time for people to stop working under the assumption these characters are known. That we know the setting.

buck: Thanks man.
Ultimate Silentking, liquidsword34, Yoda's Brother, mrp: You guys too.
Stardrifter: My issues will be longer than #0 but probably shorter than what I generally did previously. I guess I'm trying to pace myself and not over-commit.
The Wonderful Wachter: Thanks for the feedback and I take your point. I was going minimalist for the issue, but some of the sparceness of the descriptions was trying to not impose too much in the universe this early in the reboot. Things will obviously be fleshed out as issues go on.
Issue one is up. It's alot of talking and not alot of superhero-ing, but hopefully a few of you will stick in there. Some new characters are introduced, more to come.

I liked #1. Much better length. The politics are interesting. I think it was just the right pace to keep me interested. Keep em coming.

I quite like the issue length. Not too long, but still of substantial length. I like how he doesn't use his powers, the only real reference to his powers is the photo. Especially how he didn't use it to fix the microphone. Not sure if it was intentional.

This issue is much better than the first one, which I also liked. There was a lot of talking, but it is the kind that kept me interested and making me to want more. I am definitely interested in future issues. It doesn't beat Stardrifter's first issue, but it is close. 8.45 (I gave Arrow an 8.4, and I think this was better than Arrow's first issue. Sorry Wachter.)

I'm definitely getting more of a noir feel than a superhero comic feel.
That's a compliment. Despite no real action, the plot is keeping me interested, and really, that's more important than the action.

Great issue. Was a little underwhelmed with Luthor and hubdred's interaction hopefully they'll butt heads in the future.

Ok, catching up as I can on issues.
Issue 1 was a good follow up on the zero issue. Hundred's character is clearly coming into focus as we see him interact with others this time. While the focus of the issue was on Hundred as mayor and the challenges he faces in that position (Lex, prying reporters, and reelection), you made good use of the b plot with the coast Guard investigation to build tension for the future and used the photo at the end to foreshadow what could be laying in wait for us as readers in the future.
A well constructed and executed issue. A few scattered sentences could have been sharpened up as there was an occasional awkward turn of phrase, but not enough to take one out of the reading experience.
I am very much looking forward to future issues.
