Arc 2 Chapter 13 up!
That took forever, hope it's okay.

That was super long. Like maybe a little too long.
On the plus side, I really liked it. Things are really heating up!
A few critiques: why is Merlyn attacking then? Maybe I missed something but he doesn't seem to have a reason beyond being evil. Same with Vertigo. Maybe it's all been explained but it brings me to my next critique... The plot's getting confusing. There's so many characters and things happening. I think you should do a "previously..." Type thing and work on the secret files. I'm also missing so much of these characters' pasts. Lastly who is Tommy? Kate's kid? I know I'm just forgetting that.

That's fair, a lot of pieces have been coming together finally. I have public files, to help others with cross overs.
Is it okay to ask for a second sub board here? Called "private files"?

Read this first. It was a nice issue. I wasn't bored by the character moments, and Zatanna in just a few short lines became one of my favorite characters.
The negative: there are so many characters I'm starting to mix up who's related to who and how. I read the comics, so it shouldn't be a problem, but our continuity is different enough that it's tough. On a similar note, when did Barbara join the story? Unless this is a different Barbara than our fair Ms. Batgirl/Gordon.
Also, while there's a certain dread in this story, I feel like someone needs to die. People keep saying how bad things are, but no one is dead. Pull a Joss Whedon. You don't need much, just one. It would make everything a lot more intense and the threats would feel more viable. That's not to say you always need to kill someone to establish a threat, but frankly these guys can't be taken seriously as the SUPER big bads if they can't kill a single damn member of Oliver's family.

There's more of her coming. I'm trimming characters at the end of this arc and working on secret files.

While looking at the MCL I realized you don't have Barbara Gordon claimed, which leaves me to ask if that was her in chapter...16? 17? I forget and I'm too lazy to check.

That was a timetable mess up. The prior Batman writer okayed it sometime before, but then left suddenly and the chapter was written in the brief window between writers.
I tried, out of respect, to only imply that she knew computers and knew Di somehow. But ya, that was a messy moment. I try to avoid that generally.

It was pretty good. A little slow, but definitely an enjoyable issue. I'm glad you did that recap near the end. That helped a lot.

I'd recommend saying you put up the issue in the future. I'm lucky I was just scrolling through the site and caught it.
Anyway, this was a really good issue. The emotional beats hit me just right. I think it's because of all the prep I had to do for Knights, but I finally "get" all the characters, and that's helping my enjoyment of the title a lot. I'm excited for more.

I'm in the same boat as Drake. I just stumbled upon your new issue.
I really liked this issue due to very little kids being involved. This was an adult focused issue and I needed it. I feel like the kids have been the main feature and the adults have been on the back burner. Actually I feel like Green Arrow isn't even the main character of his own book. It's a very birds and other characters book. That is my biggest problem right now. Needs more Oliver. Still a good issue. Very much ready to get to the action which seems to be hitting in the next issue. Keep up the good work.

Actually, I did have something nagging at the back of my mind, and cross hit it on the head. Ollie should be way more prominent in a title called "Green Arrow." The kids are also probably your weakest characters.

LOL.
He's coming. I promise. But the irony to a few things I've been dealing with is almost painful.

I've finally worked my way through the entire series to date, and I have to say, I am quite impressed.
Especially in this genre, I've noticed that there seem to be people who can write action sequences, people who can write dramatic ones and people who can write the “small moments” in between, but rare is it to find someone who can handle all three in equal measure. You clearly are one of those that can.
I admit that it did take a little bit to get a hang of all the characters, especially outside of a brief interest around the time Kevin Smith was writing him, my experiences with Green Arrow mostly stopped at Mike Grell – never seen the Arrow series so I don't really know who a good chunk of these people are outside of your writing, but you've managed to make them all come alive. If they're half as interesting as you make them out to be, I might have to look into the series on Netflix one day.
You're very good at conveying the emotions going on behind the action as well, you can genuinely feel the elation, terror and sadness when the scenes call for them, it's quite palpable through the writing. The idea that this family has been through so much and hasn't broken yet certainly makes them stand out as heroes, and you don't have to rely on the stunt deaths to indicate “this is serious” which is tragically all to common in this genre.
Very much looking forward to seeing where you're taking this next.

That was so great of you, thanks.
I borrowed two characters (Thea and Diggle) from the show but otherwise am following the series to a large degree.
Arrow is good but I will warn you now what I was not warned about. Arrow is not the story of Green Arrow, they are doing their own whole thing. It was jarring for me going in not knowing that so the show has been pretty much lost to me. Maybe if you go in knowing that it won't be your fate.
But THANK YOU for the great review. It was wonderful.

Another impressive issue and an explosive end to a great arc.
There's so much frenetic action for the bulk of the issue, it's almost hard to get your bearing, but I get the impression that's intentional – there's just so much sheer chaos that no one involved really has the full scope of it, and the writing clearly shows that.
It all comes to a head in such a triumphant manner, and you really feel for all these characters we've been on this journey with. Everyone gets a bit of a chance to shine here, which is especially impressive considering the rather large cast that you work in and it ends on such an upbeat note. Really it was the perfect ending, and I love that you're not afraid to let it be.
The one thing I would have suggested would be something of a “Previously” recap since we just jump right into the action. I admit, I had to give up reading this one initially and go back and reread the previous issue just so I had a sense of what was going on. Trying to place people and where they were was a little bit tricky just picking the issue up, not having read the previous ones in some time.
But all in all, I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the next story for these characters are.

II just got this vision in my head of the characters in nice suits all standing in spotlights taking turns saying "Previously, on Green Arrow."
I tried to suggest that, part 1 and 2. But I could have been more clear. I'm glad you liked it otherwise, though!
The chaos was intentional. The team had all these little plots and plans, thought everything was so perfect. Then it exploded.
And I do tend to stick to real happy endings. The dark and gritty is rather well represented out there so I don't feel the need to add to it.

Very eventful issue. I enjoyed it a bunch and seeing everyone in action really made me like this issue even more. Very nice to see Oliver in action and really showcasing his Green Arrow side while at the same time doing so due to his fatherhood status approaching. I did not expect Jax to bite the dust here but I knew next to nothing about his character here so it didn't hit me as a big loss. As I was reading this issue I realized how much I love Babs and Dick as a couple. Bans seemed very lonely in this issue due to everyones "families" growing and being there.
I think Merlyn could have used a little bit more work as a character. Maybe I was just expecting more talking from him. Not sure but he just seemed off.
Overall another great issue and I am ready to see where you go with everyone next.
